Just curious, why do you say Carson is worse than Obama?
What’s my agenda, newbie?
I said I sent Cruz money on a regular basis before this vote.
This trade bill involves the negotiations that are currently underway between other countries, not just ours. I can see the need for those to be kept under wraps.
As far as our not being able to read it, if it were printed in its entirety and released to the public, I doubt that many could truly understand it.
Paul voted against it , but said that he might be in favor of it later on after he knew waht was in it. The bill has been available to members of Congress since 2012. Guess he didn’t feel the need to take a look before voting.
I read most of the comments.
The posters felt as frustrated with Cruz’s vote as I.
>As far as our not being able to read it, if it were printed in its entirety and released to the public, I doubt that many could truly understand it.<
Still, I would have liked the opportunity to read it.
Voting on a secret bill is tyranny IMHO.
You’re right. I doubt that some of them would vote for Jesus, Himself.
Senators Jeff Sessions, Mike Lee and Ron Paul read the secret bill and voted no. Cruz as far as I know didn’t read it and voted yes. I am floored that Cruz would vote yes on something he hasn’t even read or listen the warnings from his colleagues who did.
I agree. He’s not ‘tough’ enough.
Carson would be better suited as say, Surgeon General??
Before I was Cruz or bust. Now I am looking objectively at a few of the choices.
I like how Ted stands tall on social conservatism. I love to hear him speak too.
On immigration, I cannot read him. I think the trade vote really did me in. The TPP has language that could be used to really go full tilt global on immigration/labor, etc...
I haven’t heard Ted really go after Jihad infiltration either Jindal has done so as has Franklin Graham (we cannot import them).
Still keeping a look out on the field.
Why do you assume that Cruz has not read this legislation? It has been avaialble to Congress since 2012. As far as I know Ron Paul wasn’t voting and Rand Paul admitted he had not read the bill. Paul also said he might be for it later.
Ron Paul read the bill, as did Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee. All of them voted no.
“Amanda Carpenter, the spokeswoman for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) didnt answer whether the Senatorwho supports TPA, as he laid out in a Wall Street Journal op-ed with House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)has read the text of the TPP deal either.”
Cruz also did not state in his explanation of why he voted for the bill that he read it.
And why would Cruz be cowed by that, presuming it happened? All he would have to do is expose such actions to the public and the world at large.
Carson and Huckabee tied with over 20% for 1st in the GA poll (by conservative Phil Kent for the Atlanta Journal Constitution) just before the GA state convention, which was before the OK event and poll. Rubio came in a close 3rd. All others trailed far behind.
Huckabee won GA the last time he ran here. So this is no surprise.
Carson polls strong for 3 reasons.
1) He is a non-politician.
2) He does not parse his words like a politician.
3) He is the closest thing to non-politician Herman Cain, who has the #1 radio program in GA and is the most popular and trusted Republican in Georgia, by far.
The above 3 points energize the base. Most of us don’t fault a Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Paul, Fiorina, Walker, Kasich for disagreeing with us on one or two out of 10 issues. What we don’t like is the image of being a politician who does things for political advantage and not because that is what he truly believes is best for the country.
(I could enthusiastically support most any of them except Jeb and Cristie.)
Your post does not make sense.
On one hand you credit Carson’s poll numbers in GA because he IS
not a politician. Then you throw in the Hucksters high poll numbers.
The Huckster IS a politician.
So one is not a politician and one is.
Both have high poll numbers.
The only thing to gain from your post is
1. Many GA GOP voters have a guilt complex and polled for Carson.
2. Many GA GOP voters polled well for The Huckster because of religion.
Nothing but religion, not facts or positions.
Ted, we used to know you. You just handed Obama the slimmest of majorities on a secret trade bill that will undermine US workers. And are you with abolishing the data collection provisions of the Patriot Act. And what's that we hear about you supporting MORE H1B Visas when every street in the US where real Americans live has tech workers who lost their jobs to cheaper labor?
Jeff Sessions is who should be leading us.
Sorry, I no longer agree 100% with Cruz. So I am voting Hillary!!!
Join the Flying Monkeys!
Rand Paul visited the secret room but admits he didn’t read the entire 800 page bill. He even said he might support it in the future when he knew more. We haven’t heard one way or another from Cruz, but between the two, I know which one has a better grasp of the legal language of the law. Cruz is not going to vote without scrutinty of that language.
I don't know if that's true but the family association with the Vampire Squid has always given me pause.
I have often wondered how their families deal with this type of subspecies - you people have got to be hell to live with.
Anyway, I knew it was only going to be a matter of time that Cruz would disappoint his supporters, and I wondered the reaction. So, I have seen some of it, but be prepared for further disappointments because no one can agree with anyone 100% of the time.
Yet, that is your threshold - 100%. You people will be perpetually disappointed by everyone. Jesus Christ wouldn't be enough for you people.
