Earlier this week, President Barack Obama banned the sale of certain military-style equipment to police departments. Brian Kilmeade reported tonight on "The Kelly File" that Obama also thinks that police officers should have "softer looking" uniforms.
Kilmeade explained that Obama thinks that police officers are "making things worse" when they show up to inner city communities wearing military-style equipment and riot gear. "They're concerned about the helmet. They're concerned about the shield. It's sending the wrong message," Kilmeade stated. "I used to think from the civilian point of view that that would be a reason not to riot, because the police were ready and ready to act."
Obama commissioned a review of the equipment programs last year after protests in Ferguson, Mo., over the shooting death of an 18-year-old black man by a police officer. Kilmeade told Megyn Kelly that this is "unbelievable" and that if he were a police officer, he wouldn't show up to the next riot.

Someone, please explain to me how Obama can ban the sale of anything to police? Did I miss the complete federal takeover of all state and locals policing? Or the take over of uniform manufacturers?
Or is this another useless, powerless, el presidente decree which the media is pumping as a law?
Ok. I re- read the post. Obama did ban the federal government from selling certain military equipment to police and he mentioned police need softer uniforms. I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Actually, I agree with him on this (probably a first)!
The police needs to be peace officers, not the military.
That also applies to all the various federal police/law enforcement agencies...
I cringe whenever I see cops in camo/military gear. Makes me think they’re just a bunch of wanabees....
The reason is simple. The military are supposed to defeat the enemy by wounding/killing/destroying his stuff.
The police are supposed to enforce the law, maintain the PEACE, and apprehend those if/until a jury of their apprehended peers find them guilty of some crime. The police don’t ‘have” an enemy. They police “us”.
There is a HUGE difference, and in a Republic of Free Men we need to keep a wide gulf between them.
Appearances DO matter.
Cops are supposed to be mean to criminals, and protect law abiding citizens.
What they have become is protectors of criminals, and robbers of law abiding citizens.
You better have a full package if you are gonna wear that uniform.
Pink tutus, perhaps?
They look like Nazi SS uniforms.
Precisely my point too.
So, they interviewed protestors who said they would prefer it if police stopped wearing protective gear?
Gee, I wonder why they would say THAT?
EPA Soldier: I’m afraid we lost them, sir.
Cargill: Damn it! Well, then you find ‘em, and you get ‘em back in the dome! And to make sure nobody else gets out, I want roving death squads around the perimeter 24-7! I want 10,000 tough guys, and I want 10,000 soft guys to make the tough guys look tougher! And here’s how I want them arranged: tough, soft, tough, tough, soft, tough, soft, soft, tough, tough, soft, soft, tough, soft, tough, soft!
[pause]
Soldier: Sir, I’m afraid you’ve gone mad with power.
Cargill: Of course I have. Have you ever tried going mad without power? It’s boring, no one listens to you.
“They look like Nazi SS uniforms.”
No, decades ago many uniforms looked similar to what the Nazis adopted.
øbama the enemy islamist.
Nope, I suspect he would like to see them in skirts and makeup.
Of course the Obambi in chief has absolutely no Constitutional authority to do this. If a state legislature wants to provide their state police with tanks and fighter jets the usurper in the White House has no say in it.
Best comment. Concur.
Did they lose their horses?
