Matt Damon's Elysium had a similar message. All of the 'important' people had moved off-planet to a massive space habitat because they had made the Earth into a toxic, overpopulated wasteland by year 2154.
The film, however, has another unintended message that got by the liberals. The 'earth' location is former California/Los Angeles, which is financially poor, un/under educated, predominately overpopulated with Hispanics, minimal healthcare, etc.
In an exaggerated way, it shows the 'important' people segregated by choice from the poor people and toxic environment. Shades of gated communities and secure buildings. It shows the poor, lead by the Damon character, as feeling entitled to what the 'important' people have in their Elysium. Damon invades the space habitat and basically destroys it. That is how libs deal with situations.

Avatar. Another humans destroy everything they touch thought provoking (?) movie that ought to make us all feel real, real bad. Me? Not so much. Too easy to recognize the propaganda screeds anymore so they are easily avoided.
