Under fast-track, Congress transfers its most basic legislative powers to the Executive for six years. Any yet-unseen global pacts, no matter how sweeping, are guaranteed a fast-track to congressional adoption. No amendments. No ability to strike any offending provision. And no chance to apply either the 60- or 67-vote thresholds used for important legislation and treaties.
I asked the President how his fast-tracked proposals would impact jobs, wages, and trade deficits. He would not answer. The bills promoters also refused to answer when asked whether their proposal would reduce net manufacturing jobs in the United States. That is because they know it will. Like the South Korean trade dealwhich doubled our trade deficit after promises of a trade renaissancethis proposal will widen further our trade deficits and eliminate jobs.

The final vote on fast track is happening right now.
We are so screwed.
Cruz voted Yes again!
What is wrong with those fools in Washington. They have sold their souls. Only the gallant Sessions and a few other stalwarts have resisted the siren call of power and remembered their duty and oaths. I guess these patriots are all we have left. I am very disappointed in Senator Cruz. He is betraying us all in joining with the elites on this vile agreement.
C-Span is showing the Senate, with a banner that the Senate has passed the “Fast Track” Trade Promotion Bill.
They are just milling around—no info on vote tally.
From NumbersUSA:
Sen.Sessions “had offered two amendments to fast-track that would allow any Senator to raise a Point of Order objection should there be any immigration provisions in the final deal and would require the Senate to approve any changes to TPP after its initial approval. Both amendments were blocked by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).”
Blocked by McConnell because they would leave some authority in the Senate rather than abdicate to the Kenyan Faude completely.
Next vote is at 1:00 am—Mitch McConnell.
Trade Bill passes by 62-37.
It was 62-37
One of the more vigorous and interesting arguments on these boards is about whether Obama is more doctrinaire Marxist-Leninist and/or Stalinist (my vote), or a Musselman jihadi and kufr-destroyer, now setting up a double-Dienbienphu in Iraq and Afghanistan to kill as many (white) American soldiers and Marines as possible, so that ISIS and the Taliban can drag appalling numbers of American servicemen's corpses up and down dusty streets for the cameras.
The hat trick is to prove that he is both.
Bipartisanship is when the Uniparty wins and the people lose.
How can a bill with only 62 votes override a constitutional provision that says treaties must be approved by at least 67 votes?
Sen. Wyden took a victory lap, crediting Sen. Hatch and Sen. Murray and their work on the trade bill.
Senate is in recess until 1:00 am Saturday.
Then votes to be taken on the NSA bill, and then on Highway funding.
Waaaaaaat?
Bump.
Cruz voted Yes again!
Anybody know why?
He is running for President and needs money from his corporate paymasters.
I always said, when you accept that Obama’s foreign policy is driven by establishing an Islamic caliphate throughout the entire Middle East, and that Obama’s domestic policy is driven by establishing a Communist central government, then everything you see him do makes sense.
That’s depressing
