A former Virginia Democratic lawmaker who became a pariah in the state legislature after a sex scandal involving a teenage receptionist has announced that he plans to marry the woman, a day after he acknowledged fathering her 9-week-old baby.
Joseph D. Morrissey, 57, told a news conference on Thursday that the woman, Myrna Pride, gave birth to their baby about a week before she turned 19. She is still employed at his law office, he said.

Morrissey also said that he was father to a total of four children born out of wedlock with different women.
Last December, Morrissey, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for his relationship with Pride. The sentence was later reduced to a 90 days in work release.

Whore is pretty harsh. They had the baby and are getting married, two righteous acts that most conservatives should support.
A whore would have abborted the child and moved on to a different guy.
If he’s marrying her, he will be embracing the suck later down the line. No way is a 19 year old physically attracted to a 57 year old man unless he has wealth and status, which isn’t really a sound basis for a happy marriage in the long run. Once she’s been with him long enough to claim alimony, she’ll divorce his ass and shack up with a much younger man nearer her age.

I think we can joke but at least accept the fact that they are getting married and the woman in question will be taken care of.
According to the rules governing spousal privilege, the wife cannot testify against the husband without his permission except for very limited circumstances (e.g. they are suing each other).
She should superglue his zippers shut...

Since he once had a(D) after his name, this is a career enhancer.
Of course, Morrissey has officially left the Democratic Party—his antics were too much for that morally-challenged bunch—so he’s running as an Independent for state senate, but if elected, he will caucus with the Dims and if he avoids more trouble, he’ll ease back into the party somewhere down the road.

My youngest is 23. My memories of what it’s like to be around a 19 year old are too fresh. And I too am 57.
Given Morrissey’s track record, I’m guessing he will be unfaithful long before his fiancee.
Minor point: the man is not Democratic... he is a Democrat. All of our elected officials are democratically elected.
This is yet another example of media trying to manipulate the public.
At least they did not completely mask his party affiliation.
Some similar examples I have seen include calling a Democrat caught in a scandal a “conservative Democrat”, and of course the invention of “white Hispanic” just to play to the racist narrative.
Likewise for the AP-based Free Lance - Star propaganda organ in Fredericksburg VA. At least in one of the early articles on the Democrat Party (D) scoundrel.
I suppose it’s the use difference between a noun and an adjective, however....
The RATS do not like the word “Democrat”. They take it as an affront.
The DNC is the “Democratic National Committee”, though the website is Democrats.org. Go figure.
When in doubt, continue to use the word that drives ‘em the most nuts.
