Police in Waco, Texas, have sharply revised downward the number of weapons seized after a deadly brawl in a shopping center parking lot that left nine people dead, 18 wounded and 177 facing criminal charges of engaging in an organized criminal activity..
Police said earlier this week they expected to recover 1,000 weapons but now put the number at about 320.
Snip-- The weapons recovered include 118 handguns, 157 knives and 43 others, which includes brass knuckles and chains. Some weapons had been quickly stashed -- under seat cushions and even in a toilet. Police also said an AK-47 assault rifle was recovered.
Swanton blamed the complexity of the crime scene for some of the confusion about the number of weapons.
On Sunday, members of five motorcycle gangs met at the Twin Peaks restaurant in a shopping center in Waco for what participants have said was a previously scheduled meeting to discuss common issues, such as pending motorcycle safety legislation.

You forgot all the knives and forks
I’ve heard that this was a gun battle between cops and bikers. The death toll seems a little one-sided. Was this in fact a gun battle, or just a police massacre of bikers who weren’t firing back?
IBT “I bet the cops planted those weapons” crowd.
“Same thing as the waitresses and cooks, I guess.”
They were paid to go? Go figure.
“You know this happened at a public restaurant attached to a strip mall, right?”
Yep. The locals were tired of the constant fights at these meeting and demanded the police do something about it.
“Ive heard that this was a gun battle between cops and bikers. “
I heard that this started as a gun battle between gangs.
“Stop the propaganda. It was a gang meeting to discuss turf issues.”
Try READING the article, and this one from Breitbart.
“The emerging picture of what really happened on Sunday in Waco raises some doubts about the initial police explanation of the incident as well as their suggested remedy. For example, Waco spokesman Swanton has repeated blamed the restaurant for not refusing to host the event.
However, the very political nature of the Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents and its website raise troubling First Amendment questions about the police trying to pressure a business to shut down a lawful political meeting that had never led to problems previously, regardless of the people at that meeting

just like with Gray, federal hysteria politics against firearms, obeyed by your local cops at the demand of the DA.
Of course it is convenient to see it blamed on racism, only to make cops and democrats look good in the end, one for being absolved of the real antiweapon civil rights crime, the other for trying to make it fair
it is just like in military scandals, always blame a third party for the anger or depression, not the neglectful policies
Less than a thousand and that means it was ok? And this never happened?
How many of the 9 dead did the cops drop? Where are the videos of the action?
As I said before, it sounds like some idiot started a brawl at a neutral meet, it spilled outside, and the cops put it down, HARD.
The issue is now becoming why the severe overcharging, and the million-dollar bonds on non-associated bikers.
What I've heard is that all the dead bikers were shot by cops, so if the bikers were trading fire, they weren't trying very hard.
There is a biker club that hangs out at my municipal golf course on Sundays. I always wonder why, if they are not criminal, do the wear all the trappings of criminals? If I were an upstanding biker I would be doing what I could to disassociate myself from the criminal element.
This event in Waco was regular thing where criminals were known to congregate. I would think that avoiding places where two large biker gangs congregate would be common sense but it seems that many want to be associated with such a culture. To me this is no different that going to Hip Hop night when you know the Bloods and Crips are both going to show up. I have very little sympathy for the “bystanders” who find themselves in jail while the cops sort things out.
“Authorities have said the gathering of five biker groups was to resolve a dispute over turf. Some bikers dispute that, saying the meeting was organized to discuss laws protecting motorcycle riders and other subjects.”

“What I’ve heard is that all the dead bikers were shot by cops, so if the bikers were trading fire, they weren’t trying very hard. “
What I’ve heard is that four of the dead bikers were shot by cops.
What I’ve heard is that three of the dead bikers were shot by cops.
What I’ve heard is that most of the dead bikers were shot by cops.
What I’ve heard is that some of the dead bikers were shot by cops.
What I’ve heard is that the official number has not been released.
I would have had at least 3-4 ......ummm....items of interest....
In my view they are making far more hay with this then it deserves..
There was a large variety of clubs in attendance and the stuff was started by one beef between two clubs yet all are referred to as “gangs” and all tarred with the same brush by the MSM.
I wonder if the ABATE guys (which I am sure were there) have changed their opinion of LEO’s and the media...as a result of all of this.
Just my two cents worth....It’s my first and only comment on this, as a long time, (now retired) “biker”........gang member....lol
“Some bikers dispute that, saying the meeting was organized to discuss laws protecting motorcycle riders and other subjects.
‘other subjects’. Like who gets to ride where and who gets to wear what.
Hosted by an organization chaired by the Bandidos.
I know a guy who is a retired Railroad Engineer, that goes to all of his local Tampa Biker Meets with his wife, where they moved to when he retired a couple of years ago. They ride, that’s what they do, and they are hanging out with other people who ride.
As far as I know, the guy has never even been pulled over, yet alone a record.
The problem is that the “good guys” are being charged, and lumped with the “bad guys”.
PS- I DO NOT own a bike, nut I’ve known bikers, both “doctor bikers” and hardcore lifer, my whole life.
It was not a “gang meeting”.
It was a regularly scheduled meeting of the Confederation of Clubs.
“There was a large variety of clubs in attendance”
Why do all these clubs go to a gang meeting?
Ans: Because they have to be told that if they don’t follow the Bandidos rules there will be trouble.
Oh those cops are just liars - I read it the news there were that many. Who’re going to believe? /sarc
