Canadian fighter jets landed their second airstrike on an ISIL compound in Syria on Wednesday, according to the Department of National Defence.
Defence Minister Jason Kenney said in a statement that two CF-18 Hornet aircrafts led an aerial assault on an ISIL staging area north of Ar-Raqqah, a city in northern Syria.
Casualty totals were not immediately clear. Kenney said an assessment of the damage is ongoing, adding that crew members aboard the CF-18 jets returned safely to their base.
These strikes demonstrate our governments firm resolve to tackle the threat of terrorism against Canada and to promote international security and stability, Kenney said. (W)e will continue to work with our allies and partners to bring stability to the region.

Canada Ping!
Team Obama must be upset at this.
Wouldn’t it be great if Canada could spearhead an International Coalition and just bombard these cretins day and night with a few special ops forces thrown in for good measure. These ragtag losers should be exterminated by some competent military— forget the Iraqi jokers in uniform.
Canadians.
Doing the job that America’s Commander-In-Chief
just won’t do.
2 canucks spitting into the 20,000 ISIL wind
Unfortunately, the Lieberals and ‘Dippers cry the blues if Canadian military DID do something more than the occasional bombing. We don’t have the equipment, men, supplies or money to launch a campaign to win. Unfortunately, none who oppose ISIS have the will to rout them. Think VN War redux and how the US pols forced the military to fight for a draw, not a win.
Canadians, killing our presidents family one terrorist at a time.
