Gay-conversion therapy ban to be introduced in House

The push to end so-called “conversion therapy” against homosexuality is expected to gear up Tuesday with the introduction of a House bill to ban the therapy nationally.

The bill comes a few weeks before a consumer fraud lawsuit described as a “David and Goliath” battle over the therapy begins in New Jersey, and in the wake of a request for a federal probe into whether the therapy’s marketing and practices are “deceptive” and “dangerous.”

Opponents of sexual orientation change efforts, such as Reps. Ted W. Lieu and Jackie Speier, both California Democrats, say being homosexual is not a disorder or illness, and efforts to change one’s sexual orientation are wrong and harmful.

Supporters of such therapy counter that it has helped many people successfully reduce or eliminate their unwanted same-sex attractions, and it’s wrong to trample people’s rights to seek the counseling of their choice.

Mr. Lieu’s new bill, the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act, was prepared after President Obama’s senior adviser, Valerie Jarrett, said the White House supported a national ban on “conversion” therapy for minors.

“I am ecstatic that the leader of the free world has called for an end to gay ‘conversion’ therapy. And I commend President Obama for recognizing ‘reparative’ therapy for the crappery that it is,” Mr. Lieu told a reporter for Frontiers Media on Monday.

Although they look big and floppy, they actually have good structure and are firm enough to maintain shape.

Those big beach hats the girl is wearing I mean.

It seems they are. Hard to believe anyone would feel driven to sodomize, or be sodomized, but they do.

And there are "straight" guys who go for the same stuff: anonymity, promiscuity, sodomy. But with women. Isn't this mentality much of the basis of porn? But forget "porn" --- mainstream sites like Men's and Women's HGealth magazines, Fox News (Lifestyle section) and Redbook run articles about what everybody's doing to achieve the optimal BJ.

Compare the suicide stats for people who undergo "sexual reassignment" surgery (mutilation). The queers are arguing FOR that! And I'd bet it's an order of magnitude worse than those who seek sexual restoration counseling, which the fags want banned.

But this is liberalism. Logic does not apply.

with the introduction of a House bill to ban the therapy nationally

House? of Representatives? of the united States of America?

Glad all of our other issues have been solved, that they have time for this.

And what does that get anyone but an academic picky point for you to crow about?

The first step of ever defeating anything is to accurately identify what it (or the enemy) is..... Right now all kinds of culture battles are being lost for this very reason. It is NOT simply 'an academic picky point'...

Washington can’t lawfully ban a service people want and need.

Frankly this is just an LGBT Hate vote and anyone who votes for this should never be voted for again by ether a constitutionalist or a Christian. This is one of thoses issues you should black list someone on.

There is no room for compromise when it comes to our rights to buy whatever service we want, particularly when that service consist of little more than speech.

When will they be banning the normal to homosexual conversions in the schools and anywhere else these people lurk?

RE: Washington can’t lawfully ban a service people want and need.

They’ve already done that in states like New Jersey, where it was banned by of all people, a Republican governor, Chris Christie ( the man who would be President ).

“efforts to change one’s sexual orientation are wrong and harmful”

exactly! If all sexual identities are to be protected, why is going from homo to hetero any different than any other choice?

Shouldn’t the “it should be something left to a patient and their doctor” rule the Left applies to all sorts of things (like abortion) apply?

Why do these Liberals think they know more than medical practitioners?

New Jersey is not Washington, nor are they known as a particularly just state.
