While advising Mrs. Clinton on Libya, Mr. Blumenthal, who had been barred from a State Department job by aides to President Obama, was also employed by her family’s philanthropy, the Clinton Foundation, to help with research, “message guidance” and planning of commemorative events, according to foundation officials. During the same period, he also worked on and off as a paid consultant to Media Matters and American Bridge, organizations that helped lay the groundwork for Mrs. Clinton’s 2016 campaign.

Much of the Libya intelligence that Mr. Blumenthal passed on to Mrs. Clinton appears to have come from a group of business associates he was advising as they sought to win contracts from the Libyan transitional government. The venture, which was ultimately unsuccessful, involved other Clinton friends, a private military contractor and one former C.I.A. spy seeking to get in on the ground floor of the new Libyan economy.

Mr. Blumenthal sent Mrs. Clinton at least 25 memos about Libya in 2011 and 2012, many describing elaborate intrigues among various foreign governments and rebel factions.

Mrs. Clinton circulated them, frequently forwarding them to Jake Sullivan, her well-regarded deputy chief of staff, and requesting that he distribute them to other State Department officials. Mr. Sullivan often sent the memos to senior officials in Libya, including the ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, who was killed in the 2012 attacks in Benghazi.

We need to nail this down ASAP:

(1) According to George Stephanopoulous, he was solicited by the Clinton Foundation for donations to specific "charities"...AIDS and deforestation. If the Foundation received donations based on specific charitable work, then transferred the money elsewhere, the US Postal Service considers this mail fraud.

(2) At the lavish Morocco meeting last week, Bill Clinton was asked by a billionaire donor what Clinton was doing w/ donations. The donor referred to the blizzard of adverse publicity that monies sent to the Foundation were not used as intended. "What is this money for? What have you done with it?," he asked Clinton.

(3) "I just work here," Clinton responded. "I don't know."

(4) The billionaire donor also told Clinton his daughter (a Foundation Board member) felt useless.....b/c apparently Board Members were not advised of some of Clinton's activities.

(5) If Foundation Board members were not advised of, and did not sign off on, expenditures of tax-exenpt Foundation donations, the Clintons have a legal problem that could involve violation of tax laws. Board members of Foundations are fiduciaries and are required to oversee the distribution of donations.

(6) L/E investigating the Jeffrey Epstein pedophile case found Clinton listed w/ 21 phone nos and email addresses. What for? L/E knows multiple phone nos and emails are connected to money laundering and tax fraud.

"Aides to President Obama?" Seems the NYT is omitting that aides name, previously reported by the NYT as Rahm Emanuel. What a coincidence that Bill Clinton showed up at Rahm's 2nd term inauguration TODAY.

But President Obama’s campaign veterans still blamed him for spreading harsh attacks against their candidate in the primary showdown with Mrs. Clinton last year.

So Mr. Emanuel talked with Mrs. Clinton, said Democrats informed about the situation, and explained that bringing Mr. Blumenthal on board was a no-go. The bad blood among his colleagues was too deep, and the last thing the administration needed, he concluded, was dissension and drama in the ranks. In short, Mr. Blumenthal was out.

Perhaps nothing illustrates how far Mr. Emanuel has come than that conversation last month. Sixteen years ago, it was Mrs. Clinton, then first lady, who helped have Mr. Emanuel demoted as a senior official in Bill Clinton’s White House after he ruffled feathers with his aggressive style. Now all these years later, it is Mr. Emanuel telling Mrs. Clinton what she cannot do as a member of the cabinet.

Romney donor flips to Obama after gay marriage decision

We’re used to stories about the reverse this cycle, but Barack Obama finally gets a switch — Bill White, chairman and CEO of the consulting firm, Constellations Group.

A well-known, openly gay supporter of Mitt Romney in New York has decided to withdraw his support for Romney and back President Barack Obama instead.

The clincher: Romney’s stance on same-sex marriage.

“I feel that I no longer wish to support your presidential campaign and ask that you please return the maximum contribution that I gave to you last year,” Bill White wrote in a letter addressed to the former Massachusetts governor and obtained by CNN.

“You have chosen to be on the wrong side of history and I do not support your run for president any longer,” White added.

But Mr. Grange described Mr. Blumenthal as an adviser to Mr. White’s company, along with two other associates: Tyler Drumheller, a colorful former Central Intelligence Agency official, and Cody Shearer, a longtime Clinton friend whose sister once worked for Mrs. Clinton.”

On Sept. 6, 2007, Mr. Blumenthal published a column at Salon.com in which he cited an April 2006 “60 Minutes” interview with Mr. Drumheller, who claimed that the CIA had received “documentary intelligence” from Saddam’s foreign minister that he did not have WMD. In his column, Mr. Blumenthal stated “two former senior CIA officers have confirmed Drumheller’s account to me,” leading Mr. Blumenthal to accuse Mr. Bush of “lying.”

It appears that Mr. Drumheller and Mr. Blumenthal were simpatico, at least regarding criticism of pre-war intelligence. Was that, in fact, the start of a mutually beneficial relationship? After leaving the CIA, Mr. Drumheller advised John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign; three years later, he and Mr. Blumenthal worked on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

In the days before she was sworn in as secretary, Mrs. Clinton told the White House she wanted Mr. Blumenthal in a top official State Department role. President Obama specifically denied her request.

In light of that, the Blumenthal-Drumheller connection raises a new set of unanswered questions:

Did Mr. Blumenthal then team up with Mr. Drumheller to create their own intelligence-gathering operation? Mr. Drumheller has been known to claim he has a global intelligence network of sources and operatives. Does he? And if so, is Mr. Blumenthal in business with him?

The Old Gray Lady doesn’t want to have anything to do with them, because they are travelling cases of the clap just waiting to infect everyone they come in contact with.
