Only KTLA seemed to be unable to get comment from CHP; KABC, KNBC, KCBS, KCAL and KTTV (and radio stations KFI and KFWB) all got comments, and they were all the same, you can watch the comments at the following link:

Interestingly, KFI’s interview with CHP was actually the only one to bring up the question of why the freeway is shut down during an officer’s funeral procession vs a normal citizen’s funeral - and the CHP responded in that interview that anyone can request a CHP escort on the freeway, including shutting down lanes if warranted by the procession’s size and speed.
