Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, and boxing legend Evander Holyfield entered the ring in Salt Lake City on Friday for a bout to raise money for charity. Politics found its way into the charity bout, with one fan playfully shouting: 'Put Hillary in there,' referring to Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

As opposed to which of your favorite GOP candidate in the 2016 race?
A trusting soul as well. Holyfield could easily kill him, even accidentally.
True.
Now, even if Holyfield were not allowed to punch me, I'd probably die after the second round.
5.56mm
Then, Romney can't wait to get his shirt back on, even though he's in really good shape for a guy just south of 70. Sort of comical, really.
pro-abortion Mitt Romney does that appears to be for charity or being a good neighbor, this too, was in service to Mormonism, his son (Josh) is president of Utah based Charity Vision, and his pro-abortion wife Ann Romney, sits on the board.

Not a surprise...
Willard probably has never done anything “in secret” for anyone that was not probably recorded for use later...
During his 2008 run he posed for a PR pic with a saw in his hands that was not turned on, he was not dressed or protected to cut up logs in the persons yard and the person was not in need, it was a nice part of town etc...
Such deceit and political subterfuge..
and the Romneys own that charity ??? Shades of the Clintons...
Romneys/Clintons same liberal agenda, same evil lies...
Is this for Willard’s own 2016 run for the roses of POTUS ???
Or for his boy Josh age 40 or one of the other useless boys all old enough to run for POTUS the youngest 35 next year ???
Plus according to Willard, the only time those five Romney boys have done anything for Willard’s idea of “charity” for others is when they campaigned for him in 2008...
Yeah Willard’s ideas about charity are all for him and his brood...
Romney ran away from the boxer and threw in the towel
**************
So ironic, eh? A microcosm of DC politics. Fake fight, then the GOP throws in the towel.
I screamed it from the rooftops going back nearly a decade what a menace this guy was. He delivered the goods in spades.
Sorry, Russ. Both he and McQueeg did precisely that. They were there to assure Zero’s victory and stop a Conservative from getting the nomination. Blaming Conservatives for refusing to vote for the backstabbing Socialist weasel Willard, whose purpose was to STOP Conservatism dead in its tracks is ignorant.
The Establishment put the word out that no Conservative was going to be given the nomination, and they were going to pull out all the stops to assure “one of theirs” would be the vomitus ringer for the general (under the falsehood that only a “moderate” could win — just like all the other great “moderate” victories post-1932). They were (and are) VERY happy to have Zero in the White House, and if you think that’s a falsehood, take a look at leadership right now and see whose agenda they’re serving — that of Conservatism and the Constitution (and the base of the GOP), or that of Emperor Zero ?
It’s well known that the *omney family of phonies has no members that have put on the uniform for generations. It is not only troubling, it is outright bizarre. How is it they managed to do it and keep doing it ? Even “the family” declared that it was the EQUIVALENT of military service for the sons working on his campaign. Really.
Mind you, a prerequisite of military service is not an absolute imperative for me (though it is a plus) for a President, just that it was always highly troubling how that family has managed to dodge service for generations (and his strapping young sons aren’t exactly impaired health-wise).
Yep. TexasFreeper2009, Romney ADVANCED and praised homosexual outreach to children via Gay Youth Pride -- that is a BAD man, no matter how you cut it. Romney stated clearly that he believes that a pregnant minor who wants an abortion but whose parents refuse their consent, has a "right" to go to a judge who likewise has a "right" to overrule her parents and let the girl abort the baby. A man who believes that and would use political power to advance that, as Romney would, is a BAD man.
Platitudes like "He's a good man" are necessary niceties, little white lies, that are part of being civil, but they are PLATITUDES and platitudes are pretty much always false.
FMDJ is right on the money.
I heard some joke in passing on Kimmel about this being the second time Willard would take a drubbing from a Black man, but then he referenced the recent sham of a fight with Mayweather and Pacquiao, which was more in keeping with the “legitimacy” of the 2012 election. Fixed and phony.
Sure enough, it also turned out to be a part of his Mormonism, the home is a fellow Mormon's home, Mitt didn't help any non-Mormons.
Here is an old post of mine on that photo op.
To: thecodont
The Romneys set up the job for their fellow Mormon, and even persuaded the guy to find something for them to do, evidently there were no other (non Mormon)people in the neighborhood who could have used a hand.
Someone was watching, this was a pure Mormon operation, for a fellow Mormon, and the Romneys are Mormon royalty, and Mitt is seeking to become a Mormon God.
Fisher told CBS News the fire did burn a hole through a fence and caught the corner of his house.
While the house was being repaired Fisher got a call from a fellow Mormon, one of his sons friends, offering help. It was Matt Romney, one of Mitt Romneys five sons.
When asked what he said, Fisher said, We would like to come help. We would like to come do something. And I said, Matt, I wish you could, but almost everything has been cleaned up. But he pressed me, and I said, Well, there is this one thing. And I dont know if the insurance is going to cover it. There is a big tree stump in my front yard. They took the tree down, the tree was torched in the fire. But the stump was still there. So Matt insisted, he said, We would like to bring a couple of guys and do some service at your house.
Mitt Romney is seen in 2007, helping a neighbor remove a tree stump. / Reed Fisher
On that day, Fisher said he ran out to get some breakfast for the volunteers. Fisher said, As I drove down to my house, there are four men working in the hole there, ... and one of them is running for President of the United States of America.
That man was Romney. When his son told him about the service project, he had asked if he could help.

Russ, let's say the Republican you voted for, Romney, had won and right now we were three years into his administration. Obama would be long forgotten, and Romney would be using a Republican administration to advance nationalized health care, the environmentalist agenda, the homosexual agenda, on-demand subsidized abortion, and other Democrat-style "solutions" calling for government tyranny.
Would you be having a "temper tantrum" because the guy you voted for was doing exactly what you knew he would do when you voted for him?
Would you be having a "temper tantrum" because the guy you voted for was systematically making conservative Republicans in Congress weaker and weaker and weaker, while making "moderate" Republicans willing to "reach across" to Democrats more and more and more powerful? Because YOU VOTED FOR THAT TO HAPPEN.
Nobody had a "temper tantrum." Americans were SENSIBLE enough to refuse to be tricked into voting for a functional leftist Democrat when they intended to vote for a limited government conservative Republican. MOST people were smarter than you were, Russ, so Romney -- thank God -- LOST, and we got off easy -- it's the Democrats who are wreaking this havoc instead of the Republican YOU WOULD HAVE DO THE SAME because you voted FOR him.
Fieldmarshal is 100 percent correct, and you, Russ, are still living in blindness and self-pity.
Yep. It is simply amazing how many people are still so blind to the reality.
” Mitt is seeking to become a Mormon God.”
I understand the minimum net worth required to become a Mormon God is now 250 million.....this will be close.
I can’t believe we still have apologists for Willard on this board, after all the damage he inflicted. There’s almost no one who defends McQueeg on FR, yet Willard is demonstrably worse. If that fraud had managed to win, you can guaran-damn-tee he’d not have gotten rid of ZeroCare, since that was a monument to WillardCare is MA. Zero couldn’t have done it without Willard’s model.
If either one of them had won, you could fit all the Republicans in Congress in a bathroom stall that would’ve still been in office by now. The Democrats getting a two-fer, their agenda enacted by RINOs, all the while sweeping up at the ballot box in successive elections. Of course, Dubya helped paved the way for that, too (just like Big Daddy did for his “other” son from Arkansas, Bubba).
That Romney is even IN the Republican party is baffling. It means that one of us -- him or me -- is in the WRONG party.
Even though I'm a veteran, I advised my strapping young son (at the time) not to join the military. With the draft, my options were limited and I chose to join, but he had more going for him than the military could provide. If I read about Romney's sons shooting up a theatre or being busted for this, that or another I might say they would have benefitted from service. I take pride in my son's life and I'm sure Mitt does the same.
