Why would NY women want to go back to a “conservative era” no matter how prosperous it was?

I never cared much for it. The series struck me as aimed at Baby Boomers to confirm everything they disliked about their parents was true.

is it simply that ‘Men were Men and Women were Women?

I think most would go back to that era for the class, romance and family life.
But EVERYTHING else was worse for women. You had almost no choice of careers, nobody would take you seriously and creeps could get away with harassment far easier.
And NO, I don’t think ALL women are meant to be homemakers. Some have it in their blood but others want something far different. Neither should be stigmatized and they should make their own choice

Yes, here’s a secret: it doesn’t matter what women say, they secretly long for strong, capable men who are sure of themselves, not oversensitive liberal whiners.
ah go eat a welfare steak!

They article neglected to mention that in the 1960s out of wedlock babies were not the norm and women got married if they found out they were pregnant ASAP.
