Jeb Bush was left grasping for a response when a student challenged him during a meeting by declaring: "Your brother created Isis".
Mr Bush, the former governor of Florida and sibling of George W. Bush, was wrapping up a town-hall style discussion when Ivy Ziedrich, a 19-year-old student at the University of Nevada, commanded his attention by asking him to take a student question.
Her question revolved around a claim he made earlier in the meeting that America's retreat from the Middle East under the Obama administration was in part responsible for the rapid rise of the Isis terror group.
Ms Ziedrich lay the blame at George W. Bush's feet following on from his decision to disband the Iraqi Army, according to the The New York Times.
"It was when 30,000 individuals who were part of the Iraqi military were forced out they had no employment, they had no income, and they were left with access to all of the same arms and weapons," Ms Ziedrich told him.
"Your brother created Isis."

There was an alkida while he was in charge.
Not in Iraq there wasn’t.
Bush couldn't even get permanent tax cuts with Republicans controlling both houses of Congress.
“The 2003 invasion of Iraq, the worst foreign policy decision in U.S. history,” — George F. Will national column, Nov. 12, 2014.
Given the chaos that our invasion triggered, it’s hard for an objective observer to quibble with Will. The killing of Christians in Iraq started right after we toppled Saddam, and the shiite crazies were free from under his boot.
ISIS started out in Syria, after Obama sent them arms and materiel.
Syria, where Sodom sent all his WMDs (chemical weapons)
Irack, a place where alkida fighters went to die.
19 tears old, wisea$$ beyond her years. Needs to listen more, talk less. Spouts cliches; no thinking.
I suspect she is either grossly ignorant; or, she is quite smart and planned a verbal ambush that would generate lots of toxic "ink".
.
Bush 41 had enough sense to stop once he’d sent the remains of Saddam’s army packing. His son believed a lot of utopian nonsense about democracy being able to magically transform Iraq. I guess he never noticed it still hasn’t magically transformed Mexico.
As opposed to what...calling her a "gentlewoman"?
Who cares! I hate phony "decorum".
You think ISIS would be in Iraq if Saddam was still in charge?
I have to tend to agree with you. I think the sauds literally got away with murders, many of them.
Still, if obummer kept even 10,000 troops in Iraq, ISIS might not have made the inroads it did.
You think ISIS would be in Irack if Obomber hadn’t pulled out all the troops?
she is either grossly ignorant
“ignorant” for saying that ISIS can survive in Iraq because of the chaos we created? Are you saying ISIS could survive in Iraq if Saddam were still in power?
There was an Al Qaeda with Saddam there
Who created them?
You didn’t answer. If Saddam were still in power, would ISIS be in Iraq?
These Liberals are clever at shifting the blame from where it should lie - Obama.
There was an Al Qaeda with Saddam there
Not true. Saddam mercilessly killed all jihadists. If he had been weak enough to let Al Qaeda and the like roam free, you never would have heard about him being a bloody tyrant.
And yes I even think Al Queda had something to do with that small event on 9/11
Oh I forgot ...your right, he was an absolute Prince
Taking out Saddam WAS Bush’s work — and Bush’s fault.
In one stroke, the idiot turned Iraq from an enemy to Iran into Iran’s closest friend. And he triggered a sectarian bloodbath - when Saddam’s boot was removed - that led to the mass killing of Christians starting in 2003 - six years before Obama took the oath.
I don’t like Obama, but his being a bad president doesn’t make George Bush a good one.
