NDAA CUTS MILITARY PERSONNEL to ADD ILLEGALS Seeking Amnesty May 14, 2015 By Colleen Conley
The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 is currently being bandied about by Congress, with potentially dire circumstances facing our armed services.
The NDAA sets the legal framework within which the defense budget operates and informs the Department of Defense what it must or cannot do in various areas. The current debate swirling around the FY16 NDAA demonstrates the inability of Congress to grasp the primary issues which determine funding of the military; the Budget Control Act of 2011 and entitlement spending.
In the name of frugality, career service members who have served in combat will be pink slipped. Even more outrageous, these career men and women are reportedly the only ones who are getting the heave-ho.
A look at the size of our various forces shows exactly how deep the cuts go.
* Five years ago the Army had 48 brigade combat teams (BCTs). Today it has 32,with a likely drop to 24 or so by 2020
* The Navy is at 272 ships, but the total fleet will likely fall below 270 given the cost of ships and the limited funding being made available to build them.
* The Marine Corps had 27 infantry battalions just a few years ago but is on the way to 21 should BCA-levels of funding remain.
* The Air Force is sacrificing nearly everything to acquire the F-35.
At the same time, Breitbart News has reported the proposal contains language that would use the military to grant amnesty to thousands of illegal aliens if they enlist in the military. Thus, if NDAA 16 is passed, Congress would be allow illegal immigrants to take military jobs from Americans.
Breitbart reported,
“The House Armed Services Committee has already passed the NDAA which contained the secretive amnesty for illegal aliens. The nature of the amnesty is that those so-called ‘DREAMer’ illegal aliens who have received President Barack Obama’s first executive amnesty—the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which currently just shy of a million illegal aliens have received—would now be able to get legislative and permanent amnesty if they enlisted in the United States Armed Forces.”
“According to Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno, the active Army will be cut by and/or lay off more than 80,000 uniformed personnel by the end of fiscal year 2017. Further, competition for enlistment is so challenging that American high-school graduates now face, ‘more difficulty qualifying for the armed services than ever in the 40-year history of the all-volunteer force.”
According to Defense News, due to the requested budget cuts, U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey previously told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the military wouldn’t be capable of carrying out its current strategy for national defense due to the funding.
At this rate of cuts, the Army may shrink to less than 450,000 soldiers by 2019, bringing it to its pre-World War II size. Yet, Obama and Congress will make provisions for illegal aliens, while sacrificing our national defense and the men and women who have served in combat defending our country.
