Brandon Bostian, the engineer driving the Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia Tuesday night, has no recollection of the crash itself, his attorney told ABC News.

Possibly. Even if he planned to crash the train, the injuries he sustained could have caused memory loss. He might not be lying that he can't remember what happened just before the accident.
Only govt thinks its a good idea to let a cashier drive a train.
Then that’s the first smart thing he did.
1. His dispatcher was pressuring him to make up some time
2. He wasn't paying attention and screwed up
3. Brakes failed
That's like a Community Organizer running a country, oh wait....
I think PA Gay Mafia got him the job, and he scared the staff (and likely passengers) for a while now. Neurotic, drugged up, there are likely many people lined up to testify against him.
ER had to take a blood sample.. is why he was lawyered up immediately. He is likely deeply in the gay power structure in PA.
Apparently you get the same result.
Thank you for the info/link. The first reports that came in the other night were that it was behind schedule.
Would have a remote controlled train prevented this accident? The technology exists to run train remotely.
I believe I heard it reported that he’s a New Yorker.
Wink Wink ..
Wouldn’t it be more accurate to state that the engineer ‘claims’ he can’t remember the crash details?
Why isn’t Brandon Bostian in jail for criminal negligence?
“Only govt thinks its a good idea to let a cashier drive a train.”
He was part-time cashier while going to college. He worked as a Amtrak conductor nearly five years before becoming an engineer.
What bothers me is that the train wasn't that long out of the previous station.
The proper term in the railroad industry is Event Recorder. Actually, speedometers are still refered to as “Speed Recorders” as the old ones had a paper tape that would log the speed of the locomotive. Modern Event Recorders are digital and download with a SD card... some railroads have “radio downloads” of the event recorder... as the locomotive comes into the terminal yard it wirelessly transfers the data on the Event Recorder. Speed, Throttle setting, dynamic braking, Brakepipe pressure, and a couple other things are logged. Most of the GE locomotives I worked on had a satellite uplink on the cab roof to send engine telemetry to Erie where recorded faults would warrant a shopping to run a specific workscope to troubleshoot and repair the cause of the fault code.
You’re/We’re hearing has lawyer’s explanation. This guy gonna fry.
According to a source I posted earlier, he voluntarily gave a blood sample while at the hospital.
If it was drugs, then we should know soon. I doubt it was drugs.
