Downright EVIL, actually.

It’s possible to hope that situations like this can be handled in the future with less loss of life. Do all officers even have tasers. The violent drug tripper is more and more common today. There could be ways. But they don’t grow on trees, someone has to pay for the special provisions.

I agree.

It’s possible to hope that situations like this can be handled in the future with less loss of life. Do all officers even have tasers. The violent drug tripper is more and more common today. There could be ways. But they don’t grow on trees, someone has to pay for the special provisions.

More and more onus is placed on the officers, while just about everything is explained away for the perp. In the Trayvon Martin instance, I believe this is rather clear.

Each new measure required to prove officers use more restraint places more burden on the departments, and less on the perp.

Trayvon uses physical means to threaten Zimmerman's life, and Zimmerman is depicted as the culprit. If Zimmerman had been biased, all Martin had to do is comply with his inquiry to defuse the situation. "My dad lives right there. I'm just returning home." That was the easy way to defuse this situation. Martin gets a pass, because he was half Black, against security man half Hispanic.

Martin had a chip on his shoulder. He wasn't going to allow some near White looking guy challenge him. He refused to be civil. He then escalated the problem to trying to beat the security officer to death.

The media played into this all the way. So yes, I agree "EVIL" is accurate. I also think "Incitement" is a valid charge against media outlets.

The Left wanted another cause celeb. They manipulated to achieve it. The result was riots, the knock out game, and a season of racial strife that wasn't warranted at all. Many people died. Destruction was widespread.

As department's costs go up for mace, tasers, body cameras and other measures, the media plays down the reasoned expectations of criminals, and play up the unreasoned demands on the officers.

It was clear rather quickly that Martin didn't have justification to kill Zimmerman. What is a camera going to add to that reality And yet, that's the demand.

I'd venture to guess we're talking about 10s of millions of more dollars added to police department's budgets, in the interest of making them obey the rules, while the perps continue to do as they damn well please.

Hey, how about just informing perps to obey officer's demand and avoid the problems? Duh!

It's something like forcing good citizens to jump hoops to own a gun, when the evil in society can get them without jumping through hoops.

I can see a reason to suggest the cameras, but I'll bet more loopholes are found to get the guilty off because of some technicality that officers in a life threatening situation accidentally contributed to the event, not out of evil intent.

Ah, more free passes. Just what we need.
