During his “Talking Points Memo” segment on Tuesday, “The O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly explained that Americans have changed their stance on a number of issues, including immigration and Christianity and that has been to the detriment of the United States.

I’m not that sure that that poll is accurate about American attitudes toward immigration. The Republicans who campaigned against present immigration policies won.

I don’t know if this is a decline in Christians or a decline in those claiming to be. I now live in the south and there are a LOT of folks here who say they are Christian but don’t have a clue what it actually means.

Yes, the pagans believed that Rome fell precisely because the people had stopped worshipping the pagan gods.

This led to Paulus Orosius' Seven Books of History against the Pagans, highlighting all the disasters that had happened in the centuries when the gods were duly worshipped, and St. Augustine's great work The City of God (Charlemagne's favorite book).

People I know are just as God-fearing as they used to be, they go to Church, practice their religion, we just don't talk about it ‘out and about’ like we used to...

As far as other religions, I don't see much difference than what we do...other than the muslims, they are always blabbing about something or other....

Many Catholics and “mainline” Protestants LONG AGO fired Jesus Christ and hired Karl Marx. As C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) once observed of a church that no longer loves the Gospel (paraphrased). “An empty perfume bottle maintains the fragrance for a while, but eventually it fades.” As they seek approval from the world, I think there’s not much “fragrance” left in many church pews today.
