Tough job, but somebody has to do it. For the 44th year in a row, the American Conservative Union has released its annual Congressional ratings for lawmakers who either uphold conservative values - or find them akin to kryptonite. The ratings have become a kind of gold standard, the organization says, in holding every member of Congress accountable for their voting record - and their support of limited government, prosperity, individual freedom and traditional values.
There are several takeaways from ACUs 2014 Rating of Congress, says Matt Schlapp, chairman of the group. First, the liberals in Congress tend to vote together as a block. The Left does a great job of enforcing lockstep orthodoxy, to the detriment of the constituents they represent. When it comes to passing real conservative reforms, the Left collectively obstructs implementation of commonsense economic, national security, and cultural reforms.
On a 100-point ratings system for their conservative voting records, there are essentially no Democrats in House or Senate who breeched the 40th percentile. Over 30 Democrats had a score of 0 percent this year, including Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia.
We can only conclude that the former Democratic National Committee Chairman plans to serve one-term representing the Commonwealth of Virginia before he returns to lead the fringe portion of the liberal activist base, Mr. Schlapp observes.
A slim few Republicans were rated between 40 and 49 percent on the scale, with the majority of them scoring 60 percent and above. Sixteen earned a 100 percent rating this year, including Sen. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and Rep. Ron De Santis.

Why would anyone conservative vote Yes to stop debate on fast tracking powers for a top secret trade bill that gives the most radical far left America hater zealot power to add amnesty after the fact.
This creature is enemy of the US
so he gives him unlimited unconstitutional power over a secret trade agreement !
Cruz should have stopped it.
But everyone voted to ram this thru even Sessions who was screaming about it !
Notice how quiet the Gop is about a secret deal which is nothing but a Amnesty Trojan horse bill for K street !
So much for being conservative!
They are all owned by K street!
It is just as wrong headed for Conservatives to hope for Utopian perfection from their candidates as it is for the Libs to have a Utopian agenda.
Cotton was the only one who held out. If Cruz jumps off the roof because everyone else jumped off the roof what does that say about his judgment? He lost me there.
Do you realize how dangerous this phony fast track Trade Hoax is ?
Barry and his cabal won't even allow an open debate !
Its that BAD Folks !
Cruz and these other frauds vote for cloture !
Its a nightmare !
We have no one in DC fighting in the Senate !
“If Cruz jumps off the roof because everyone else jumped off the roof what does that say about his judgment? He lost me there.”
Perhaps it is you jumping off roofs.
Who is to say Cruz voted incorrectly?
“thank you for telling me.
I stand corrected Cotton is the real man left. “
Beware, we have a troller here who is trying to diss Cruz at any cost
The Iranian deal is a pretty serious deviation. It means he trusts Hussein to get it right. BAD judgment call! It does not speak well of his ability to see what is in prospect. It is not as bad as caving on immigration would be but it is pretty bad. No. he doesn’t have to be 100% but on certain crucial things, a slight misstep is as good as maybe 25% off that 100%. He blew it. He got tired of fighting, I guess. If he blows the trade deal also then he joins the ranks of the McConnell Brigade and cannot be trusted in the White House.
Thjere is a “continuing” voice but no possible influence. He voted to let it go forward with the proviso that the Senate gets to approve or did approve the end product. So it comes back for approval- All the Democrats vote for approval and 6 to 12 Republicans. It is approved. So the Republicans vote solidly against it, it is not enough to get cloture. So they get cloture then what? It gets sent to the Sultan who vetos it. Where is the Republican approval vote now? Everything after the McConnell maneuver and the gope/Dem vote to remove treaty status from the agreement is purely symbolic voting and a presidential aspirant really should get right with those symbols. Either he misapprehended the nature and import of the vote, which bodes ill for Presidential judgment, or his heart is with McConnell/Hussein. Neither is good.
If anyone is interested in finding out how any senator voted here is
a link to the recorded roll call votes of the Senate by year. The tables
are listed by year back to 1989.

Senate Roll Call Votes.
I don’t expect 100 percent on any person’s opinion rankings, not even my own. I just want a decent person, with firm convictions, a limited-government philosophy backed up by their voting record (gain, does not have to be 100 percent, but in the 90s would be about right), a love of old American values like independence and self-reliance, and an ability to put the media in its place. Cruz scores a 100 on that test. I’m in.
Lindsay Graham? John McCain? Who else could it be?
I tell it like it us and don't follow any politician blindly.
Cruz voted to give this Far radical
unlimited power and the trade bill is a Secret in purpose !
The only person who stood up to K street and the Amnesty hidden in the top secret pages was Cotton .
It you had read up about this trade bill trickery you would have found out these Soros props have been trying to pull this off since 2010 and only after K street got its kickbacks is this scam getting ram thru .
No conservative votes to shut down debate on this Trojan horse scam .
go troll somewhere else/
I see the real face shows up with the cussing.
And longevity means squat. Just look at Ted Kennedy’s 40 years in office.
Like Teddy, you are wrong, period.
Don’t say things that you know are true. The people who bash Cruz won’t like it.
Bless you Johnny. I am a fellow Cruzader. The negative people on here are politically driven because Cruz is so tough to beat.
Um, no. Cotton voted to pass it. The Dems voted to oppose it.
