You dont have to like Sen. Ted Cruz, or even agree with him, to find offense in a recent line of questioning he endured.
More than awkwardness, Mark Halperin offered a stunning small-mindedness as he attempted to tease out Cruzs Hispanic bona fides: What Cuban food did he like growing up? Which Cuban music does he favor today? Would he welcome fellow Sen. Bernie Sanders to the presidential race, and Id like you to do it, if you would, en español?
Halperin, famed for co-authoring the book Game Change on the 2012 presidential campaign and prominent today for his analysis on MSNBC, spoke to Cruz for a Bloomberg Politics online interview series on presidential candidates. As you may have heard, Cruz, Texas junior senator, is running for president of a country that should be above such inappropriate behavior from a journalist.
Cruz has been clear about his Cuban heritage, even as he has spent roughly zero time pushing himself as the Hispanic candidate. For the record, Cruzs father left Cuba in 1957 to attend the University of Texas....

Wake up American Ted Cruz is the best there is.
I agree with you-—100%!
Obama ran for Caliph of the World. Most of his supporters just didn't realize this at the time.
One might recall how professional golfer Fuzzy Zoeller was crucified in the media as a "racist" when he mentioned something about fellow golfer Eldrick Woods--who is black--eating fried chicken and collard greens.
I would like to mash a plate of colcannon in smarmy Mark Halprins face.
Liberal jerks, I got nuthin to prove to you along ethnic lines!
Next up from liberal weenies... Ted is a Canuck!
Obama is importing the last of the Red embers from Cuba.
Hurry up Obie, don’t let Castro and the fire die.
I don’t eat that stuff /s
I hate watermelon too.
It’s pretty amazing to me how much across the board outrage there has been about this. It’s very good that this has happened.
PLEASE refrain from calling Him “Obama.” It’s extremely disrespectful, and in fact, more than a little racist. “President Obama” is fine. “Our President,” or “Mr. President Obama” is fine. “Mombasan Fairy,” “Mister I-Sucked-Larry-Sinclair-while-we-smoled-crack,” “Marxist Jihadist,” “The guy who never had a real job and now admittedly spends whole days on the couch watching basketball on TV,” “The guy who once allowed his own publicists to claim he was BORN IN KENYA” etc. Are NOT acceptable monikers, and in fact, they’re more than a little offensive. I could go on and on, but please, please, just call Him Mr. President Obama. He deserves, and has earned our solemn respect. Seriously - I’ve had it with you people!
What Kenyan or Indonesian food did the media demand the “one” describe or what Kenyan words was he pressed to “welcome Mitt Romney” with?
A Soros puppet .

Davey us following in his radical unhinged foot steps
It is what it is and he is what he is.
My advice to you: don’t sweat the small stuff—LOL!
We could do with a few more Canuks like Ted....
Ted is pure American.
“Ted is pure American.”
AHEM!
Ted is a bona fide TEXAN!
