I’ve always felt that a nation wide system of pipes would be an answer. An overall plan for the nation, with each state doing its part. A system where collected water from flooded, or over watered areas could be directed to needy areas. Jobs for many, but floods and droughts averted. Just a thought.

Such a simple idea ... and doable

Who cares if y'spring a leak, right ?

Has anyone EVER suggested this in a viable way to a politician that might be able to get it done?

Honestly (I'm ashamed) .. I NEVER thought of it and I think it is brilliant

“From each state according to its ability... to each state according to its needs.”

Central water use planning, comrade! With the glorious FedGov in charge.

It all sounds so romantic... collectively speaking.
