Absolutely! They sleep better at night believing themselves to be better people by virtue of caring. Their care, however, is a mile wide and an inch deep. They certainly care a lot so long as they can toss other people’s time and money at the cause de jour. That’s a main reason why they look to government as the solution to every ill. It absolves them from doing anything themselves.
