I am surprised unschooling is even legal in some states. The parents should be required to meet with local education officials at least once a year to present the kids for ‘inspection’ and testing, etc.
“The parents should be required to meet with local education officials at least once a year to present the kids for inspection and testing, etc.”
Sounds racist.
Inspection and testing of kids was/is required in communist countries-in Russia it was done so the kid could be assigned an occupation the state decided they were suited to when they came of age. Ira Levin also used the concept in his dystopian novel “This Perfect Day”. But the last time I checked, this was still America...
Because the 'local education officials' are doing such a good job of it eh? Look at the stats for home schooled - that always test much higher than the public schools, where illiteracy is rampant. Sooo... why again?
If a government schooled kid fails maybe he should be **forced** to homeschool!
So?....Give the government's abysmal record on producing literate graduates maybe government teachers and principals should forced to report to their local homeschoolers association.
Oh, yeah?
Whose kids are they? Mine, or the state's? I'm responsible for my daughter's schooling. I sacrifice time, money, opportunity and effort to educate her at home. I am not going to subject her to the state's approval. Sure as hell not going to "present" her for inspection. That's the entire reason I homeschool in the first place.
Despite the fact that over twenty states have either no requirements for homeschoolers to meet, or merely a requirement that they notify the local district of their choice, homeschoolers average in the 85th percentile on standardized tests.
Don't tread on me.
>> The parents should be required to meet with local education officials at least once a year to present the kids for inspection and testing, etc.
And should the children express disapproval for PE’s sodomy agenda, what then?
Good that you’re getting blowback on that statement.
