Elton Simpson (on left) , reportedly tweeted minutes before the attack that he and his fellow assailant had pledged allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The FBI knew Elton Simpson was heading to Garland, Texas. It’s not clear if local authorities were notified.
FBI Director James Coomey said they may have missed others.
Comey added: “There are “hundreds, maybe thousands” of people across the country who are receiving recruitment overtures or directives to attack the U.S.”

I think the elected leaders are very bad; I tend to wonder if there could still be a few decent individuals working for Federal Law Enforcement and other agencies in the government, certainly not the IRS generally speaking.

A somewhat similar scenario took place with the Murrah Builing bombing in Oklahoma City.
I have it on good authority that the order to arrest Richard Jewell or the 1996 Olympic bombing came directly from the White House...and Bill Clinton himself.
When politics intrudes on law enforcement, no good can come of it. See the Murrah Building, TWA 800, Centennial Park, Sandy Hook, Trayvon Martin, Ferguson, Baltimore, etc.
