Oh B.S. I do appraisals for divorces; that's total crap. The real issue is that men spend the collective family money on expensive things that maintain value (no problem with that...it assets)...and then lay claim to those items.
You just wanted to keep all the cars, guns, tools, boats, etc. I'm sure if you had fought for the $50 sofa, $500 worth of used clothes or the $5 Tupperware, you could have had half.
