Hillary Rodham Clinton appears to have initially weathered a barrage of news about her use of a private email account when she was secretary of state and the practices of her familys foundation, an indication that she is starting her second presidential bid with an unusual durability among Democratic voters.
Americans now view Mrs. Clinton more favorably and more see her as a strong leader than they did earlier in the year, despite weeks of scrutiny about her ethics, a New York Times/CBS News poll has found. And nearly nine in 10 Democrats say the nation is ready to elect a woman president.

I wouldn’t say “footnote”. There are probably a lot of instances have taken their constituencies for granted and never really listened to them. For a large part, this works when you throw money at the election.
It’s only when the incumbent is so derelict in management of his campaign and assessing his constituency that a chance for an upstart becomes possible. Could have happened in a lot of different times and politicians. However, once accomplished, it steels the no-goods that are left like having seen a wolf steal away with their baby. Scares them silly.
The only other time I recall something near to this is when Tom Daschle got defeated. He’s now the equivalent of a K-street lobbyist.
The media should give themselves another award for once again successfully saving Hillary from her own lying, and criminal conduct.
LOL. Oh wait. That's horrible. You pig.
Like I've said, these investigations are a waste of time. We're dealing with the Clintons here.. laws that apply to everyone else do not apply to them. Americans like being played by the Clintons, and whenever they're challenged, they become ever more popular.
It's not rational.. it's entirely effed up.. but it's reality. The Clintons can commit whatever crime they wish, and the American voters will forever give them a pass.
Not "we," but the American electorate as a whole. Remember how Bubba's popularity shot skyward during the impeachment?
Yep... and be prepared... somewhere there will be prominent, erstwhile conservative women who will leave us scratching our heads when they support her "because it's time for a woman" in the White House. Trying to figure out the muddled mess that is the American voter's thought process is an exercise in futility.
I call bull!
