I agree. 15 years is crazy. If Grandma didn’t want little Johnny to see the act, she should have stopped taking a video, removed the little kid from the area and called the police.
Also, I live in Bradenton, we had another couple in Manatee County last year that was having sex in the parking lot of a very busy shopping center in full view of anyone going by. They didn’t get the book thrown at them, just probation and community service if I recall.
Apparently, we are over run with a lot of overly sexual people in Bradenton.

Yet it was meant for people who expose themselves and subject children to sexual acts, especially in public.
I think it’s degenerated to the point where someone like you can’t understand why this is a serious crime.
That’s why they were given fifteen years then: not for copulating publicly but for rejecting the plea bargain offer.
Maybe I skimmed too fast, but I didn't see anything about a plea bargain offer in the article. What was the offer?

He was out of prison less than three years after his prior felony.
This is more than that, and the 40 year-old is no child.

Good for you. To have no decency is to place yourself above all others around you. Having lots of kids I get lots of appointments at our local clinic. There was a new younger woman working in registration and I was so appalled by her attire that I called the business office when I got home. Unprofessional would be the most gracious thing I could say.

15 years in prison for having sex on the beach. Meanwhile, the average sentence for murder in the US is 11 years. This country’s priorities are seriously screwed up.

If that’s your standard, why not 75 years? 100 years? 150 years? That’s also far less than eternity.
