Some are saying I provoked this attack. But to kowtow to violent intimidation will only encourage more of it.
Sunday in Garland, Texas, a police officer was wounded in a battle that is part of a longstanding war: the war against the freedom of speech. Some people are blaming me for the Garland shooting so I want to address that here.
The shooting happened at my American Freedom Defense Initiative Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest, when two Islamic jihadists armed with rifles and explosives drove up to the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland and attempted to gain entry to our event, which was just ending. We were aware of the risk and spent thousands of dollars on security and it paid off. The jihadis at our free speech event were not able to achieve their objective of replicating the massacre at the offices of the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine last January and to go it one better in carnage. They were not able to kill anyone. We provided enormous security, in concert with the superb Garland police department. The men who took the aspiring killers down may have saved hundreds of lives.
And make no mistake: If it werent for the free-speech conference, these jihadis would have struck somewhere else a place where there was less security, like the Lindt cafe in Australia or the Hyper Cacher Kosher supermarket in Paris.
So, why are some people blaming me? Theyre saying: Well, she provoked them! She got what she deserved! They dont remember, or care to remember, that as the jihadis were killing the Muhammad cartoonists in Paris, their friend and accomplice was murdering Jews in a nearby kosher supermarket. Were the Jews asking for it? Did they bait the jihadis? Were they provoking them?

Even though they did.
Everybody already knows Christians don’t respond to insults with murder.
I was delighted to hear that there will be more exhibits/contests. I hope that each one results in more dead jihadis, and that more and more Americans wake up.
The 1ST protects all people from government interference in free speech.
Laws against assault and murder are supposed to protect your speech otherwise.
It is true people can refuse to associate with you, condemn your views in their turn,or fire you from at-will employment or your expressions of free speech.
Hate crime laws were ,and are ,a very bad idea;I said so when they started because anyone with intelligence knew the aim was to criminalize dissent.

The Pussification of America is on display over this issue.
I just can’t understand how so many Americans bow down to these muslim terrorist pigs and urge caution so as to not anger them.
These are the muslim death-cult animals who perpetrated a sneak attack on us, killing thousands of innocent civilians.
They clearly state their intent to kill us or convert us to Islam and to turn the US into an Islamic state,
They are freely killing, beheading, torturing, raping and plundering thousands, if not millions, of non-muslims.
And yet we have influential Americans saying we shouldn’t irritate them. And they criticize patriotic Americans who stand up to the muslim barbarians.
I imagine that inside they are happy with a president like Obama who says a mudering muslim terrorist is just a guy in your workplace who is upset, or that the constant barrage of muslim atrocities are just random acts of violence.
If we don’t irritate the muslims, and if we call their killing “workplace violence”, do these cowardly appeasers feel safer?
I wonder if the people in the Twin Towers “asked for it?”
We need to get rid of the Muslims that are here and stop letting them immigrate to the US. They are nothing but trouble.
Personally I hope the ones here start to act out really badly so people will wake the flock up before we get to the Europe state of invasion and occupation.

I am a christian so if I hear of anyone baking a Devils food cake can I kill them?
I agree.
But it is beyond embarrassing when conservatives do not make a distinction between the general principles of free speech (free speech counters free speech) and the 1st Amendment, which only prohibits government from infringing on free speech.
Sean Hannity in the clip at this article did the same thing! It makes no sense and is infuriating!
You are missing the point. This thing was done as a proportionate response to a 'Stand Up For Mohammed Day" which was a support for the Paris massacres and was conducted at the very same place i January.
The "Insult Jesus" thing has been done over and over.
Libs and 9/11 hijacker make the same argument: just stay quiet and everything will be okay.
My point was simply that lots of demonstration are meant to provoke a response. In fact, I think that that's the whole point of a "demonstration." If a demonstration doesn't provoke a response, it's not a successful demonstration, it seems to me.
My point was that back when the Left didn't have power and wanted it, they conducted all kinds of demonstrations that were meant to offend, to shock, to disgust, and to frighten ordinary people. When once in a while the consequences got out of control and went beyond the limits the demonstrators assumed would be there, I don't remember anyone in the MSM - and precious few ordinary people - claiming that the demonstrators "asked for it."
It's a blatant, massive double standard that the "smart people" in the MSM don't seem to be able to see.
Obama is a coward. ISIS has declared that they will kill Pamela Geller and anyone who supports her. O is very afraid.
He also is a Sunni and that’s why he supports Iran. I have no facts, just great wisdom
