When dollars are tight, as they really are in the Army today, the military only spend above the line on what is considered to be absolutely of the highest priority. This exercise is going to be expensive in dollars, troop hours, flying hours and wear and tear on already taxed systems. So what does that tell you about how those at the very top in the Pentagon and White House read the tea leaves. And what does it say about those with many star on their shoulders who are tamely signing off on this massive ‘training exercise’ which IMHO appears to be a real operational dry run exercise?
I would also think (that their actions indicate they believe) there is something coming. Call it ISIS, or economic collapse, or who-knows-what.
Among other things, it says we need to be vigilant as a people. Since the greater part of this effort is at the border (southwest) it stands to reason that we would allocate forces in a manner to defend that border. Not that Zero has that intention, but it his intentions are not what matter. Results matter.
