One time during my high school days, all the boys were called to the auditorium. Unusual. No advance warning. Just “all boys meet in the auditorium. What in the world? No idea. We all just figured someone had screwed up and everyone was hoping it wasn’t them.

So, we get there. About 300 of us I guess. Everyone gets settled and the principals behind the podium. Real hard ass. Really.

It seems this girl had moved into town. I guess she had a hard time making friends so she used what the Good Lord gave her. Unfortunately she had the clap and had passed it on to about 8 guys. I didn’t know her by her real name. But her nickname was “Can Do”. Fitting.

Back when I was in high school I was selected to go to the American Legion's "Boys State." It was held at a college near Columbus, OH. We were under the care of students from the local college where we were staying in the dorm. One night my group was called together. Our "keeper" told us of a girl in the neighborhood named Betty. I still recall his warning: "Stay away from Betty." I don't know what she had, but it was evidently catching.
