If something isn’t too hot to drink, I’m at a loss to figure out how it can do severe damage to other parts of your body.

Is it good for people to drink something that hot? I sometimes wonder about the long term effects.

The drink cools over time. Get it hot (best results when brewed at 200F), wait for it to cool; by the time you’re ready to drink it (pay cashier, carry stuff to table/car, etc.), it’s just getting down to drinkable.
