Rep. Steve King on Garland attack: 'We knew this was coming'
CNN ^ | Jeremy Diamond

Posted on 05/05/2015 5:33:48 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Rep. Steve King on Tuesday stressed the importance of defending free speech in the U.S. in the face of radical Islam, hours after ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack outside a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas.

But the attack, carried out by two gunmen Sunday night, didn't come as a total surprise to King, a conservative Republican from Iowa who said Tuesday on CNN's "New Day" that "we knew this was coming in some fashion or another" -- pointing to attacks in Europe as harbingers of the threat the U.S. also faces from Islamist terrorists.

And King beat back criticism of the event targeted Monday -- one deemed offensive by many Muslims.

"I think we have to push back on this. I don't think that what they did down there was offensive. I think it was a robust demonstration of freedom of speech and we have to do that," King said. "If the speech is not offensive it doesn't need to be protected by our first amendment constitution."

King called the attack an attempt to bring "Sharia law into America by intimidation" and said without a robust backing of freedom of speech, Islamists will "keep redefining what's offensive until then all of their rules are applied on all of us."

The conservative congressman suggested that's already a process at work in parts of the U.S., bringing back on Tuesday the since-debunked concept of "no-go zones," areas where police are kept at bay and instead Sharia law is enforced.

This meeting wasn't about offensive speech. Even if the media wants to classify it as such, offensive speech is still protected speech. Westboro Baptist Church protests military funerals and none of them have been shot. Go further back in history to Skokie IL and the Nazis. The Nazis picked Skokie because it had the highest concentration of Jews in the region. The Nation of Islam promotes a race war.

Ms. Geller does do a great job of crushing the talking heads at their own game. Fun to watch.

Islam is a cult of evil and we better wake-up to that fact.

“If you don’t want to offend them, you must convert.”

Actually what muzzies really want is for “infidels” to submit to Shariah law & become `dhimmis’ or slaves to Muslims which is what it boils down to. They want an enslaved class in a Muslim-dominated society, not a bunch of new converts who are now equal to Muslims.

So Steve King gets it right for once. As for those now claiming that “free speech equals provocation if it’s about Islam”, they are beneath contempt.

“King called the attack an attempt to bring “Sharia law into America by intimidation” and said without a robust backing of freedom of speech, Islamists will “keep redefining what’s offensive until then all of their rules are applied on all of us.””

Steve King is fearless. That Heaven for a few hardy souls like him in D.C.

“The conservative congressman suggested that’s already a process at work in parts of the U.S., bringing back on Tuesday the since-debunked concept of “no-go zones,” areas where police are kept at bay and instead Sharia law is enforced.”

Jeremy Diamond is just another dhimmi in denial.

Gee, Wally—If we knew this was coming, why didn’t we do something to stop it?

This attack ended well with two dead terrorists gone to hell. The next might not end so well. Did this get Obama off the golf course?

The terrorists are now fully aware that trying to get into a shootout in Texas is an ineffective tactic. That just means they will move to other techniques, like IEDs, and will import some experts from Iraq to teach the techniques.

In January 17,2015, and in the same public school center, there was a “Stand with the Prophet” rally by Muslims, a provocative pro-Shariah law event, by supporters Al-Qaida and Isis organized by one of the terrorists implicate in the bombing of the garage of the NY World Trade Center in 1993.

I wonder if those who try to blame the organizers of the “First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest,” for the Muslim terrorist attack would have justified if some patriotic American had irrupted in Muslim rally on January alive, a real grievance more justified than the alleged 2015 and made a massacre of Islamic terrorists. After all, Americans are profoundly offended by the abuse of our freedoms by those who made the Muslim rally in support of the savages that decapitate, crucify and burned Christians offense provoked among the Islamic fanatics by the Mohamed cartoons.

In January 2015, the radical Islamist desecrated the holy soil of Texas. Do not mess with Texas!!!

WOW WHAT A COINCIDENCE!

The muzzy attack corresponds with the BLACK SPRING!

What are the odds that militant blacks leading the BLACK SPRING will now team up with muzzies to carry out terrorist attacks coordinated with race riots?

Orchestrate civil unrest/race riots then carry out terrorist attacks, seems I’ve heard that somewhere before.

When a country throws out the welcome mat to its enemies, should there be any surprise at the outcome? The following is a Biblical view on “diversity”:

Numbers 33:55 - “But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which you let remain of them shall be PRICKS in your eyes, and THORNS in your sides, and shall VEX you in the land wherein you dwell.”

So, maybe we should suspend free speech that might be seen as nano-aggressive? Just so nobody’s offended of course. WTH? I read/hear free speech everyday that pisses me off but I understand the system. Am I offended. You bet your butt I am but I ain’t rioting or going off shooting anybody. Maybe my level of being offended isn’t high enough. Maybe if I was REALLY, REALLY offended. Uh, no, I have been.

I so agree. Steve King is a true-blue American Patriot. He is an American hero from Iowa. The left despite all their efforts to destroy him have failed to take him out and he stands up for conservatism time and time again.

The potential for an attack was so great that the organizers might have well planned for it. Defensive plans of this kind are common, and provide for all sorts of contingencies.

Importantly, it needs to be a “layered” defense, to handle different threats to the people assembling, the event itself, and the people dispersing at the end.

He is exactly right.

This is their goal and the goal of the Left.
