Obama to nominate Gen. Dunford as Joint Chiefs chairman

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama plans to nominate Marine Commandant Gen. Joe Dunford as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s most senior military post, according to a senior administration official.
Dunford would succeed Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, who is retiring this year as the top military advisor to the president and defense secretary.
Officials said Air Force Gen. Paul Selva will be nominated to become the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the senior administration official said.

Don't know anything about Gen Dunford, but Gen Paul Selva (vice nominee) is a superb choice. Great values, great pilot, great experience, great temperament, great General. One heck of an electric guitar player as well.
