> Can someone point me to where I can download a latest version of the Constitution?
One that specifically authorizes (enumerates) federal government authority over such things as:
- the amount of water in my toilet bowl
- the type of light bulbs I use
- body stench removal products
- how fast ketchup should flow out of the bottle
- and also raisin control.

I am damn near dying here -- I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!

Raisin control!

The “SC Johnson Wax” company is a smaller, family-owned company and is not one of the huge corporate giants on the list. It is not related to Johnson & Johnson, a huge, publicly-traded personal care and medical products corporation.

I hear you about the overregulation of small business. I used a home-business soap for many years, but the owner eventually searched for someone to take over their line, and stressed that the concentrated botanicals used in cooking the soap formulas can be overpowering to someone with allergies.

It's ironic, too, that the first female millionaire in America was Madame C.J. Walker, who was also African-American and the daughter of former slaves. She started in her kitchen making her own hair and skin care formulas.

Good point though I suspect the morons in DC don't even hold out for the highest bid.

I admit my insights on this have a personal slant. She's my wife, and I love her, and I want her to succeed.

It kills me that a loving mother and wife can't manage to make specialty soap in her kitchen, and keep up with all the government regulations and taxes, fees, licenses.

It really makes me angry. Her little business isn't going to sink Proctor and Gamble and it's not going to let me retire early. But it is her dream. It makes her happy, and her little group of clients love her and the soap.

How many times is this multiplied across the nation? How many "little people" have their hopes and dreams crushed by government greed and regulation?

The impact in my wife's case is only a few clients losing a fru-fru soap, but what about those inventors and more serious entrepreneurs who could create jobs and grow the economy?

It's unjust, and it doesn't matter if it's just one Freepers wife with her kitchen-created soap. It's still awful.

Ralphie agrees. Soap is a danger to all young boys.

I see what you've done with that. Hahahaha!

Ya. Gotta love this one!!!

Ketchup Speed Limits

{technical note: this not in miles per hour (mph), but in centimeters per second. So all posted ketchup speed limit signs should have an appropriate conversion applied.}

Be always on the alert for the speed limit signs on the ketchup bottles, in the stores, and at the restaurants. And if you see ketchup going too fast then by all means call 911 and report it. And if ketchup is going too slow and not using the slow lane and holding up other ketchup, then it too should be reported.

http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfCFR/CFRSearch.cfm?fr=155.194

“The consistency of the finished food is such that its flow is not more than 14 centimeters in 30 seconds at 20 deg. C when tested in a Bostwick Consistometer in the following manner: Check temperature of mixture and adjust to 20+/-1 deg. C. The trough must also be at a temperature close to 20 deg. C. Adjust end-to-end level of Bostwick Consistometer by means of the spirit level placed in trough of instrument. Side-to-side level may be adjusted by means of the built-in spirit level. Transfer sample to the dry sample chamber of the Bostwick Consistometer. Fill the chamber slightly more than level full, avoiding air bubbles as far as possible. Pass a straight edge across top of chamber starting from the gate end to remove excess product. Release gate of instrument by gradual pressure on lever, holding the instrument down at the same time to prevent its movement as the gate is released. Immediately start the stop watch or interval timer, and after 30 seconds read the maximum distance of flow to the nearest 0.1 centimeter. Clean and dry the instrument and repeat the reading on another portion of sample. Do not wash instrument with hot water if it is to be used immediately for the next determination, as this may result in an increase in temperature of the sample. For highest accuracy, the instrument should be maintained at a temperature of 20+/-1 deg. C. If readings vary more than 0.2 centimeter, repeat a third time or until satisfactory agreement is obtained. Report the average of two or more readings, excluding any that appear to be abnormal.”

She says the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act should be more progressive like laws in Europe rather than antiquated US regulations in effect since the 1930s.

In general, any law or regulatory policy proposed on the grounds that "they do it this way in Europe" is bad. Often, it's very bad.

It’s a bit difficult to give you the formula because of the oils and scents and the triple-beam balance that I use
to get very accurate measurements of the ingredients.

I have all my soap batches in Excel files on my computer, and the dividing lines between the measurements
do not paste with the ingredients, so it’s very confusing to try to figure it all out.

I’ll try.

Castor oil 3 oz. (85 g)
Almond oil 7 oz. (198.4 g)
Sesame oil 7 oz. (198.4 g)
Coconut oil 19 oz. (538.6 g)
Mango Butter 10 oz. (283.5 g)
Shea Butter 10 oz. (283.5 g)
Olive oil (extra light) 15 oz. (425.2 g)

Mix and melt all the oils together in a big stew pot.

Lye 9.73 oz. (275.8 g)
Water 25 oz. (708.7 g)

Mix the water and lye until the lye dissolves.

Mix the oils and the lye solution together and add any soap scents that you like.

Oh! I forgot to say, buy a bunch of soap molds. You can get them online.

Pour the soap into the molds and allow it to set up. After about a week, unmold
the soaps and set them into an airy place to dry for another week or two.

Six weeks from the day of mixing the soaps, put each bar into a plastic sandwich bag.

There’s your soap. Be very careful with the lye and the soaps before they cure so that
you don’t get any lye burns.

I will help you... You might leave your ground beef out on the counter for a week or so before cooking it.... you might burn your hand trying to flip the burger without a utensil..... you might forget to turn off your grille or range top and start a massive fire.... you might leave your left-overs out on the counter for several days before trying to heat them up again....

Exactly! If we're all forced to go down the local WacDonalds and have these sophisticated tasks performed by a bored, entitled, pierced 16-year-old who resents people with jobs and has no idea how to properly wash his hands, then we'll all be safe!
