I believe the 1200 soldiers and sailors are above reproach. The folks on FR are all gung ho about the Special Forces every ther day. But now you are all suspect about them.

Have you lost faith in them? Do you think they would follow illegal orders? Do think they would knowingly attack civilians?

Just what does the common creeper think is going on here?

Those are the questions I asked myself. I think the fears are unfounded and the nut level associated with this has gotten out of control.

You can support the military with all your might. That is not the same as liking the idea of having the military with arms and equipment throughout your neighborhood and city.

A pressure tipping point is being approached.

Do you think they would follow illegal orders? Do think they would knowingly attack civilians?

No.
But things can be manipulated so that illegal orders are seemingly legitimate. — Tom Clancy did this in a few of his books, and there's a very clear example of a patently illegal order/SOP which is considered legitimate: the restriction of fire arms on military bases: you see the 2nd Amendment, even in its most contrived readings, has to apply (a) to the militia/military, and (b) to the federal government.

The question really is how much do we trust them to follow the constraints of the Constitution. (And, further, how much weight does the military institution give the Constitution? Also, the lack of standing-style runaround that they gave anyone trying to verify that Obama was Constitutionally eligible to be the President pretty well proves that it is not the case that they-as-an-institution will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;.)

Exactly where were you when the federal government under yet another Democratic Party president, sent federal government forces to go and slaughter women and children at Waco? And Obama is like a million times more evil than Clinton ever was. He thinks and believes he is the Supreme Leader and is above the law. He has repeatedly shown total disregard and contempt for the law and the constitution.
