On Monday, presidential hopeful Rand Paul had this to say to a group of Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn: "All the way back to the Iraq War, I think it was a mistake to topple [Saddam] Hussein." The Kentucky senator continued:
Hussein was the bulwark against Iran. The Sunnis didn't like the Shiites, now Iraq is a vassal state for Iran. I'm worried [Iran] is twice as strong as it was before the Iraq War. [Rand Paul]
I'm no dove. But I must admit: Rand Paul has a point.

Huh???
See my post #31....
I can’t believe the conservatives are now ranting the same talking points the Libs use and have used..”Its all Bush’s fault.”
Hilarious. some of the conservatives are just as knee jerk-switch positions as the Libs.
In the early 80s, we had plans to invade and occupy Iran. I saw them and my unit was part of the plan.
I didn't think we were supposed to talk about that.
We currently have plans to invade Canada too.
We war game lots of countries...I’m sure we have plans to invade Iran and Sweden if need be.......your point is irrelevent.
Bingo.
The housing crisis?
Sure Bush wanted people to own homes...it builds wealth in a stable economy.
Who didnt want a stable economy?
Democrats in Congress tanked the economy.
And who lost Iraq?
Duh...Obama and the democrats gave it away...
Nope. Sorry
You Can ‘Ignore’ the Facts.... You Can’t ‘Deny’ the Facts.
Denialism is exhibited by individuals choosing to deny reality as a way to avoid dealing with an uncomfortable truth.....an ‘irrational action’ that withholds validation of a historical experience or event...
Did you ever hear of the bi-partisan 9/11 Commission?

Did you hear of the practice airliner found by the US Marines?

Ron/Rand Paul are weird characters, their followers even weirder.
The son has proved himself to be unworthy of being taken seriously.
I agree, but somehow, they got elevated to office.
This is not an indication that things are OK in America.
And Zero is the unconqueror of Baghdad. Zero is why ISIS happened.
There is a case to be made that Baghdad was not worth conquering in the first place. However, losing it after winning it is the worst outcome.
We'd be in the best shape with a peaceful, democratic Iraq. We'd be in better shape with a balance of power between Iran and an Iraq with Saddam still in power. But, thanks to Zero and Clinton, Iraq is a mess, and Iran is now the regional power, and it's up to Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia (LOL!) to counterbalance. So much for the leadership of the Free World!
A thought that has occurred to my evil mind:
In the run-up to the first Gulf War, April Glaspie should have been instructed to convey to Saddam the score: Middle-eastern hegemony in exchange for:
It would have been amusing to watch Saddam to roll into Saudi Arabia and feed the religious police through his wood chippers.
Sorry for trying to have an intelligent conversation with you. won’t happen again.
Dirty bomb? You mean with process uranium or spent medical isotope waste that has been weaponized? They found that in Iraq? Where? When? Pictures?
“A practice plane” used by the government of Iraq? What for? Where was that — that is not a “Weapon”.
The 9/11 commission found WMD in Iraq under the control of the leadership? Really? Any page number on that. I was actually unaware that the 9/11 commission even blamed Iraq for the attack by the Saudies on American soil.
The 9/11 Commission did not say Saddam was behind 9/11. But he did promote terrorism. Period.
Go away troll. You are a latent liberal. You use all the left wing talking points and refuse to learn.
According to you, as long as a Muslim terrorist group didn't attack us on 9/11 (Saddam) we don't go after them. That is Liberal/Obama logic.
Wow. You must be upset. Sorry. I was just sayin. Good luck in your quest to find that which is not there. “Yellow cake”? The intellectual discussion of facts in support of one’s conclusions is hardly “stupid”. Good luck and God’s speed.
Where did the 9/11 commission said Iraq promoted terrorism? Just curious.
Are you in some kind of denial?
“Where did the 9/11 commission said Iraq promoted terrorism? Just curious”
No you are trolling and lazy....it took one google search to find it.
It’s not exactly a secret that Iraq (Saddam) was a state sponsor of terrorism.
Here it the the link to the 9/11 report:
http://www.9-11commission.gov/hearings/hearing3/witness_yaphe.htm
Sure don’t see it. I think you know the truth now. Good luck.
Baghdad actively sponsored terrorist groups, providing safe haven, training, arms, and logistical support, requiring in exchange that the groups carry out operations ordered by Baghdad for Saddam's objectives. Terrorist groups were not permitted to have offices, recruitment, or training facilities or freely use territory under the regime's direct control without explicit permission from Saddam. Saddam used foreign terrorist groups as an instrument of foreign policy. Groups hosted by Saddam were denied protection if he wanted to improve relations with a neighboring country and encouraged to attack those Saddam wanted to pressure. If they refused Saddam's "requests," they were exiled from Iraq There it is...right from the 9/11 report. All you are doing is admitting you are being a cornfed troll who buys into left wing Anti-US propaganda.
