Last week, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins was invited to be on "Face the Nation." What was supposed to be a cordial conversation about the Supreme Court and same-sex marriage turned out to be a professional ambush.
Host Bob Schieffer pounced on the Family Research Council, calling them an anti-gay hate group. He was using discredited intelligence from the Southern Poverty Law Center. It was an ugly interview.

Actually, the “science is settled” regarding biological origins of homosexuality. The results have been buried by the pro-homosexual media, but they stand nonetheless.
It comes from studies of separated identical twins. If it was biological, there would be a much higher incidence of homosexuality among separated identical twins, but there is not.
Ooops. Never mind. Put the studies into the memory hole and never mention them.
To get sanity, the prince of sanity (Jesus Christ) has to reign.
This suggests an evangelism thrust, and in the meantime hanging on to all we got in the Lord. We might even discover that “all we got in the Lord” is enough and we didn’t even need a sane land to be perfectly blessed in the Lord. Y’know the bible might actually be TRUE, shock horror???
We can’t even evangelize for our sake. We don’t do it for a nice land, we don’t do it to keep out of hell ourselves. We do it because we care for what God cares for, the salvation of souls.
That reminds me of Bernie Goldberg’s account of Fidel Castro stopping by CBS News’ headquarters in New York a number of years back. Dan Rather was there to greet him and basically fawned over Fidel like a long lost relative, giving him a souvenir baseball bat. Really disturbing portrait that Goldberg painted in that book about Rather and his antics of that nature, not just DNCBS’ bias.
I countervailingly pray you a BLESSED day.
What did Jesus say to do with enemies.
Souls and environmental spiritual factors appear to dominate the picture. That is exactly what you would expect if the bible were true.
The bible acknowledges the phenomenon of being born in sin. This is on individual basis. Family curses are also a phenomenon known in the bible.
God will not be mocked forever.

Host Bob Schieffer pounced on the Family Research Council
Why put yourself in the lion’s den and then complain about the danger? We all know what to expect from these radicals. Is there a death wish or something going on?
It can’t be a passive thing like an amusement park ride, or rather we shall find we have a chance to take active power in it, like riding a wild bull.
The Lord expects no less.
I see signs of the Holy Spirit getting uncorked across the nation at the same time as great evil gets uncorked. When the power of darkness comes in like a flood, the Lord shall raise a standard. But this promise requires the premise, the same as the Lord preparing a table for us in the presence of our enemies.
We are all sinners. For believers this mortal coil is a hall of redemption. That requires great action if we are going to want a great reward.
It’s true, there should be less complaining and more strategizing in the Lord.
I wish our faith alone could turn the tide, but like a great pendulum swinging back, most will be swept away in this world.
Shocking.
No one, and I mean no one, could have anticipated the attacks.
Every other interview of Christians has been friendly, who could have known?
1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Turn away from the media.
How about believing the Lord’s promises, that faith will open up a way? Your faith is one thing you do have a control over the measure of, as you exercise it.
Nobody promised easy. But even in the worst instance, for those who physically perish, they shall actually pass into the Lord’s reward.
Instead of saying “But” to the Lord’s promises on account of earthly opposition, how about saying “But” to earthly opposition on account of the Lord’s promises. That is what opens up the power that comes by faith.
In the sense of don’t rely upon them. It doesn’t mean don’t keep up a witness.
Christ knew that he was dealing with the Enemy, in the guise of fellow Israelites. Modern Christians should be at least as alert and discerning about foul beings like Schieffer et al. disguised as fellow Americans.
Concur. That’s what I’m looking for Cruz to exploit. I have seen glimpses of this from Walker.
I believe He said to love them.
Heh heh heh... a hard school.
I chuckle because in the case of those filled with the Holy Spirit, it really is commonly true that what does not kill them makes them stronger (to borrow a worldly idiom).
He’ll be back in the battle, better, even if the wind has been knocked out of his sails now.
There’s a time to say Enough, granted. Don’t throw pearls before swine. Know what faith the Lord has given and exercise it accordingly as it grows (and yes if you keep up working out your salvation with fear and trembling, your faith will grow).
I really do want to carry a voice of encouragement in darkness. I don’t know if anyone is listening, but at least Jim Rob has not cast me out yet.
Indeed.
I grant this. His interview attitude was not the wisest.
Still, he managed to say some things to the good, and if Christ is his teacher, will come away with some good lessons for future battles. This is like learning how to play the piano by undertaking a concerto, once. It’s going to stink at the start.
