“Just as much a stretch that six officers maliciously killed him.”
The officers did not intentionally kill him. They gave him a “rough ride” to knock him around a bit, but because of how he was positioned in the van, they broke his neck. Any non-LEO person would be charged with at least manslaughter in the same situation. If you try to hurt somebody, and they die in the process, that’s manslaughter or 2nd degree murder, whether you intended to kill them or not.
Let’s get a grand jury to decide though just for kicks :) Gets me a little nervous when tearing a town apart gets the powers that be to indict. I could be wrong.
“”They gave him a rough ride to knock him around a bit””............NO they did not! Per other man in van on CNN tonight (yes I know CNN yuck) the van right was “smooth”
The other passenger in the back of the van stated that the ride was smooth all the way to the hospital.
The rough ride scenario may be a common practice in Baltimore, but in this case it is just an internet rumor with no facts behind it.
“They gave him a rough ride to knock him around a bit”
Pure speculation.
But here are some facts from the charges against the officers.
They put him in the van, cuffed and later shackled stomach down with his head toward the front. But on the ME report the claim is that injuries matched a bolt in the rear of the van.
Logically, it seems he would have had to reposition to get these injuries. Never mind there is a witness statement stating that Gray was injuring himself.
