Police departments nationally have had a hiring policy for a while, where
they reject applicants with an IQ that's too high. In the linked article, an applicant unsuccessfully sued when he was rejected for having an IQ of 125 (corresponding to a test score of 33). Police depts only hire people with scores in the range 20-27 (21 corresponds to an IQ of 104, so we appear to be talking about an IQ range of about 100 thru 115)
