I agree that the mayor and DA have handled this situation horribly, from the response to the rioting to the potential appearance of impropriety in the investigation, and everywhere in between. But, as others have mentioned, it’s important to keep that stuff separate from the initial underlying event (Gray’s death), and, based on what is known about Gray’s death, I think that there is probable cause to support charges against the officers. Whether it’s enough to convict will depend on what other evidence comes to light.
I too think that murder is over the top but manslaughter would be a more fitting charge.
This should be done in another place away from Baltimore with an independent investigation because there is no way the cops will get justice as they are already convicted in the city.
Imagine what the jury will be like. Death penalty before they are hearing a word.
