We have no information or evidence at this point to indicate that there is a prior pre-existing spinal injury, said Jason Downs, an attorney representing one of Grays relatives, told the Sun. Its a rumor.
And yet that rumor might have caused real damage in a country already polarized on the subject of race and the police. The story quickly spread to several other Web sites, such as Free Republic and the Conservative Tree House, which called Grays supposedly pre-existing injury a potential game changing discovery. A site called New York City Guns ran the headline Dead Baltimore Drug Dealer Had Spinal Surgery DAYS Before He Collapsed in Police Van (Rioters Say OOPS).
Boom! Seems legit, a commenter wrote on the Conservative Tree House.

The Freep is part of the story.
Its the seriousity of the charge.
I wonder if this guy writes for Snopes.com. If so, Freddie Gray indeed had a preexisting spinal injury.
There is a 4 year gap in his arrest record. Was he just lucky during that time? Or was he turning his life around?
Trying to rehabilitate the perp and justify the riots.
The truth will change nothing.
Yes, suspicious distraction at best. The cops still chased him down without cause (not much of an injury I guess if he was able to run from them), arrested him without cause, through him in a van, which left him dead. Previous arrests, previous lawsuits, previous or recent injuries, whatever, do not excuse the police.
The Baltimore popos are being niggardly with release of many details.
Lawyer speak.
The article assumes facts not in evidence - and which cannot be in evidence - until the autopsy.
We don't know either way.
Freddie’s medical history will never see the light of day. Val Jal has already seen to that.
He was a lawsuit leech.
When the story came out it seemed too good to be true.
Same thing happened with Darren Wilson’s supposedly broken orbital socket or Larry Reid supposedly hitting Harry.
Fake stories seem to get planted on less reputable blogs hoping they filter upstream to more prominent blogs so leftwing papers can ridicule and lambast them. Note it doesn’t say that the unknown blog got it wrong. It drags FR and TCT into it. Reading TCT it doesn’t do anything other than repeat the rumor with a warning of it being a rumor. With FR, it’s not a news site but more of an aggregator.
And yet the story is right wing news media got it wrong.
Watch out. This is happening too often for it to be incidental. Some folks out there are trying to poison the reputation of some sites.
I predict it will be 11 months, 24 days, 19 hours and 43 minutes before we have a semblance of the actual facts.....then the DOJ will add more clouds by finding a "broad and oppressive climate of racial prejudice" which contributed to his death....
Soon the Left narrative will claim resisting arrest is a civil right.
The interesting part is that a poster to FR actually debunked the story.
Both of them.
But he was getting various payout due to lead paint exposure. Total BS -scam in my book but it gave him a monthly check $700 like an SSI disability check

The Left Wing have spent a very long time telling us that Brown was shot in the back, and they don’t seem to have recanted that yet.
They don’t have a reputation to lose.
I remember a few years ago a teacher was fired, or something, for writing “niggardly” on a student’s paper.
