Nah, B-25. Carries a nice big bomb load, lots and lots and lots of .50 cal machine guns and does a heck of an impression of a heavy fighter in a pinch.

Now you're talkin'! BTW, I think there are a few stories where planes like the B-25 and B-26 did take on fighters in a dogfight and win. I have to look that up but I'd say it is quite possible. A fave of mine is a B-26 as well, there is a training film up there on it on YouTube. I once saw a TV show documenting UFO stories and there was one story where a B-25 was chasing a flying saucer and did a good job catching up to it until the UFO poured the coals on and zoomed out of there. Can't remember the show but if it is true, it shows how versatile the plane is.

RE B-25s... heck of an impression of a heavy fighter in a pinch...”:

Look up the B-25 Mitchell and A-20 Havoc Gunships operating in the Pacific during WWII. Skip bombing, parafrags, and a whole MESS of .50 calibers mounted in the nose...

Heavy fighter - indeed you are correct... there weren’t a lot of them, but they raised absolute HELL on Japanese ships and airfields.
