Unless I’m mistaken the only source stating that the ship is American with an American crew is Al Arabiya. Others are saying it is a ship of the Maersk line (Danish). Not defending the act, but let’s just say the Saudis have some motivation to make this a casus belli between the US and Iran and wait for more definitive confirmation of the facts.
