the weight of the argument should always skew to ‘doing what’s right for the kids’. Period.

I would bet that less than 20% of Americans today would agree with that. Maybe not even 10%. That's how far we have fallen.

Sadly, yes. We have become such a self-centered culture.......instant gratification, selfies, me first. Our future generations will suffer for the lack of foresight. Prayers that this once great country can return to the pursuit of the American Dream. Our future, as a successful country, depends on it.

I certainly can understand why he’d want to remain anonymous, and I find it difficult to believe that you wouldn’t sympathize with that desire as well.

Actually, I said I did. Perhaps you missed this last sentence in the 1st paragraph: If this is genuine I understand completely with his reluctance to use his name.

Knowing the person's name allows for verification. Someone knows his true sexual orientation. But honestly I don't really care. I merely made the statement that UNFORTUNATELY we can't really know if this person is genuine or not.

Fair enough. I just think that it’s possible for the editor of the publication to verify, as much as it is possible to do so, the veracity of the author’s claims, and I think it’s probably a greater benefit to all concerned that the author remain anonymous. He certainly has more to lose by being exposed than the public at large has to gain by knowing his identity.

The only thing to be gained is knowing that there really are homosexuals who hold these beliefs, which may be more important than we can imagine.

[ In years past, many gays and lesbians entered into heterosexual marriages because it was the thing to do. They had children who did benefit from a mother and a father. I wonder if gays and lesbians would consider heterosexual marriages to complete themselves. Children do deserve a mother AND a father. And most children who have come out of unions where one spouse was gay/lesbian are adults with heterosexual desires. I don’t know the answer for people like this man, but the weight of the argument should always skew to ‘doing what’s right for the kids’. Period. ]

Heck both “families” could buy one half of the same duplex and knock a hole inthe wall too. better than the current toxic environemtn of two man haters or two women haters raising a child causes a lot of pycholiogical harm.

Doug Manwaring is a long time writer and editor who got divorced from his wife because he didn’t want to live in the same house as his son, whom he admittedly started experiencing same-gender attraction for. He admitted as much. Doug Manwaring is very much attracted to the same gender.

Unfortunately, there is no way to confirm this was written be someone who is homosexual.

I had the same thought. However, I did have a similar conversation recently with a gay person. He believes that extreme gay activism will in the long run do more harm than good because it is creating deep resentment among traditionalist Americans. He thinks gay people should continue to debate and make their case over time, not by judicial fiat a là Roe v. Wade, which has never settled down because it was imposed, not embraced by a majority. I have to admire his reasoning.

Sadly, however, I think what will happen now is the worst case: gay marriage will be imposed, and generations of children will be harmed by all its ramifications before a critical mass can rise up to name and shame its harms without being punished for stating their truth. It may take a century to resolve.

The real problem with gay marriage is not who GLBTs cohabit with, but gay parenting and today's fascist environment where nothing negative may be said about gay parenting without severe retaliation. Children are stressed merely by being adopted or turkey-basted into an extreme social minority, over and above the parents' homosexual ideology. Only after outcomes have been tracked and for a period of decades will legislators, judges and social workers be able to protect children from harm instead of having to bow to political correctness when the "parents" are GLBTs.

Just as support for pro-life position has only recently reached more than 50% since government forced it down society's throats in 1974, social disapproval of gay parenting may take until 2050 or so to tip the legal scales back.

I have an uncle in his 70s that is gay. He’s been with his “partner for over 45 years and neither has any interest in “gay marriage.”
