We e still have a week to go, but its already clear that the Most Valuable Player of the Month will be Carly Fiorina. She wins the award because she has done what nobody else has thought to do or, more likely, had the nerve to do. She has said in a loud, clear voice that the Empress has no clothes.
Carly notes that, while the Empress Hillary went to fancy schools, ran expensive campaigns, held high political office, signed her name to multiple autobiographies, generated Kardashian levels of personal publicity and became Romney-rich while serving some never-quite-identified public interest, she hasnt actually accomplished anything. Carly has uttered an inconvenient truth, you might say.
For performing this public service, Carly got a taste of how the Clinton oppo-team responds to even unexceptionable criticism. It returns fire disproportionately. Just this morning, I found five hit pieces on the Internet, all of them noting with the predictability of a drill team that Carly Fiorina was fired from her last corporate job. The clear implication: Carly Fiorinas reputation as a successful businesswoman is a myth.
Perhaps this is a teachable moment.
Heres what happened. After graduating from college, Carly got a job as a receptionist in a small real estate office. Over the next twenty years, she worked hard, learned new skills, took risks, lost sleep and finally won herself a division-level job in big-time corporate America. How often does that happen? I dont know, but the answer is somewhere between never and not often.
But Carly wasnt finished, not by a long shot. In her division job, and later in a corporate sales job at ATT and its tech spinoff, Lucent she found herself in a particularly unforgiving environment. In those kinds of jobs, you either make your numbers

She was let go from the Watergate committee and not given a recommendation wasn’t she?
Ah. So Carly has more in common with the average Joe than Hitlery. Perhaps Hitlery can attempt to operate a Slurpee machine in her next effort to connect with the common man.
Great post, but Carly is still not presidential material.
Historically, presidents have had been elected to lower office or have served in the military.
We seen these vanity runs with Herman Cain, Ross Perot, and now Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.
This woman lost what should have been an easy Senate seat against Boxer.
Yep. Carly, like Rick Santorum, is a hopeless loser. But unlike Santorum, Carly does have some value. As a woman, she can strike at Hillary without fear of being called sexist.
Just ask any Hillary sycophant what she has accomplished and you will get blank stares and a lot of stammering.
Of course if Hillary knew what a Slurpee is...she’d have to have Joe Biden take her to a 7-11. But someone needs to be there to keep Joe from saying Indians run the 7-11 and to keep Hillary from talking with an Indian accent. :-)
No, she was not dismissed. Yes she was not recommend for any other position. In fact charges to the Bar were considered.
Please no naked Hillary metaphors. I don’t want to try to sleep tonight with that unpleasant mental image.
Carly needs to stay in this race for as long as possible. She is the only one who can hit Hillary on women’s issues. Otherwise it looks like 10 middle aged white guys verses a women. She is a mean, crooked, hot head of a women. But the press will help her play that card. Carly stops it cold. If Carly stays in until next March that would be great for every republican candidate.
True... Carly would be good as Sec of Commerce in the Cruz/Walker administration.
Didn’t Hillary get asked to leave as SOS in 2012?
Nowadays the Secretary of Commerce has one -- and only one -- meaningful responsibility: conducting the census.
It's no longer a job of any importance.
RE: Great post, but Carly is still not presidential material.
I personally think that Carly is angling for a cabinet position in a GOP administration.
It’s still OK if they run, this is the country where anybody can run for president, isn’t it?
An easy win in CA against Boxer? Are you kidding?
Beating Babs Boxer in California was a long shot, at best. The state tilts so far left that a Democrat has to do a Gray Davis level screwup before there is any chance of a statewide Republican win.
Boxer may be dumb, but no dumber than the California electorate at large.
43-year-old Bobby Jindal is a middle aged white guy?
43-year-old Bobby Jindal is a middle aged white guy?
Whatever one thinks of Carly’s views, she comes across as one tough cookie. She doesn’t mince words. I like that.
