Climbers on Mount Everest ran for their lives on Saturday when a massive 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal and set off at least one avalanche. At least eight people died and more than two dozen were injured in the avalanche on the world's highest mountain, according to The Associated Press.
Jelle Veyt was just getting back to base camp when suddenly the earth "shook for a couple of seconds badly," the Belgian climber told NBC News.
A sherpa just a few feet ahead turned and pointed behind him, Veyt recalled, saying he then turned around himself and saw a "huge cloud of snow" heading his way.
...
He managed to find the tent and crawl inside, where others were trying to hold up the walls as the snow continued to hit.
Veyt said he and his team were all safe but now the injured are streaming into the camp.
"I'm seeing people coming in who got hit by flying ice, fell because of running away even critical people with broken legs, bleeding," he told NBC News. He said one man was carried in by eight men and that in total he'd seen between 10 and 20 injured himself.

Unintended consequences of God’s interference with the globalists plans to take over God’s creation.
It is regrettable that anyone lost their life on that mountain because of it. But I am far more concerned about the resources that should be devoted to rescuing and supporting those that lost their lives just living them the best they can. I hope no critical resources are diverted from that effort to address these mountaineers.
It’s all about the mountain climbers, eh, NBC? No point mentioning any locals, because no one cares, right?
Is it too much to ask you Aholes to have some class during a devastating earthquake?
Some people don’t get it and never will. You are pathetic.

Levine Family Update

Hello Praying Friends,
We would like to ask you all for special prayer for the country of Nepal. They just experienced a major earthquake of a 7.8 magnitude. The epicenter was located just west of Kathmandu where our home and ministry is. There have already been reports of damage and reports of 600 dead. We've had reports back from most of our friends that they are safe, but the earthquake will create difficulties for people. Please pray that God would use the opportunity to get a hold of the Nepali and Tibetan people's hearts, and that they would turn to Him. We've already heard word that the Knickerbocker family is safe, but please pray for them particularly in this critical time as they continue to minister and live in the conditions that the earthquake has created. The earthquake struck during the service time of most churches across the country, so many of the Christians were assembled together already during the earthquake. Please pray for Nepal as they recover from this disaster. Nepal already struggles with development across the country. Thank you for your prayers.
God Bless,
Justin Levine
You call BenLurkin an pathetic a$$hole because he posted an article? That’s rich.
Me? Well, yes, I guess you could say something about what I posted, but I did in my posts voice real concern over the rest of the Nepalese earthquake victims.
The truth is you don’t like that I don’t give a crap about the adventuring climbers caught by fate. Call me a pathetic a$$hole, I don’t care. I’ve been called worse.
“What ails you, O mountains?”
Who the hell are you? You spout off nonsense during a time of disaster and then have the nerve to criticize me?
Take a hike pal.

I am quite sure Jim Robinson does not appreciate people making jokes about catastrophes while people are being pulled from the rubble. Why don’t we ask him directly?

It’s called gallows humor, it’s been around a long time.
