As local police agencies are stressed by rising pension and other costs, they increasingly have embraced this troubling policy: Using civil asset forfeiture to take as much private property as possible, even from people who have never been convicted or even charged with a crime. The more they take, the bigger their budgets.

The feudal system has returned especially here in California. The princes, lords, dukes and earls in state and local government utilize law enforcement as their collection agencies. This is the land where they can take without legal judgement you property and business. Roll a stop sign and get a family budget breaking $800 ticket. Where's Robin Hood when we need him?
