broke police multiple times?
who is the writer. My 11 year old niece? and that’s an insult to her.
H.L. Mencken died a long time ago.
It’s phonetic spelling - poli-ce
It’s the “new school” way.
The writer is probably one Otto Korekt, who developed the stylistic device of randomly replacing words with other words differing by a single letter.
You have to be smarter than the spell checker that changes your words ... :-) ...
I feel I must reply to this post . I worked retail years ago. the crook got away with only 400 dollars and they fired her for it. if you look at most fast food places they advertise that the store has less then one hundred and fifty dollars on hand because company policy is to keep the cash in till under that amount and to drop excess cash to a money drop box that the store employ has no access to. Most store employs cant keep to the policy because if they did they would not be able to make change if the store got busy. When I was in my 20s I worked at a gas station that had this as there stated policy and if I fallowed that policy the Store would of lost thousands of dollars in business each day because I would of constantly been unable to give change during the morning rush. instead of my till being under a hundred and fifty dollars my till was constantly over the amount and I still would have times where I could not give change because I made a drop then got hit with a rush.
They used to have pruufreeders. but when ya have a degree in journolizm? who needs a poofreder?
