“Dhanani argued she was fired because she broke police multiple times by leaving too much money in the register.”
Broke police multiple times? Are the police made of plastic?

It’s phonetic spelling - poli-ce
It’s the “new school” way.

Marissa has been offered her job back. This after Popeye’s got a black eye from all the publicity. Marissa is ‘not sure’ and remains bitter. Swallow your pride my dear! You have a whole lotta mouths to fill. Work now, be righteously angry during your next vacation.

The writer is probably one Otto Korekt, who developed the stylistic device of randomly replacing words with other words differing by a single letter.

Maybe they meant to say broke protocol by having too much cash in the register at the time?(Just guessing? perhaps if Popeye’s had given this manager a gun to protect herself the pricks wouldn’t have been able to steal from her restaurant

lol it took me three minutes to figure out otto korekt, and i was getting pi..ed, thinking why does this poster think i know an Otto Korect, too funny lol

..."broke police"... More than one? My experience with them is that they tend to take a rather unfavourable view of anyone who tried (or succeeded) to break even one of them. Good thing she did not have a dog.

The intended phrase - "broke policy" - is magically transformed into "broke police" when it is typed in by one of today's illiterati who depend on spell-checkers to compensate for the sub-standard education they received in government schools.

If she broke policy multiple times, why wasn’t she disciplined earlier? Why wait until a robbery?

If you’re in Los Angeles, Louisiana Fried Chicken, which has several eateries in the area, is better than Popeye’s. And Golden Bird, at 83rd and Western, is even better.

A very dear FRiend of mine (yes, he is a freeper) owns a good stake in Popeyes. I know he will not reveal himself, and I hope he doesn’t, but we talk often about stuff we read here.
Please, give Popeyes a break in hell.

I prefer Popeye’s and Church’s over Kentucky Fried Chicken any day.

more likely meant “broke policy”
still bad writing though. “violated policy” would have been more accurate than “broke policy”, but I suppose we educated folks should give the poor “journalist” a break, after all, “violated” is a REALLY big word, you know, having four syllables and all.
