The thing about Texas is we can afford to lose Cruz as senator because we have good people here who could easily step in for him.

There is a good argument with Cruz that America would be better served by having him stay in the Senate for the next 30 years and end up with a nice long tenure as Majority Leader, rather than an 8-and-out Presidency.
Not the issue I’ll decide whether to vote for him on, but still a pretty good argument.
