Kabar, illegal immigration has been my one driving force since the early 1990s. Once I realized our border was open and the illegals were pouring over, I attacked that reality.

You probably don’t follow me here. That’s okay.

I am what I would term quite angry over what Obama is doing, but at the same time the Republican party has been trying to do the same thing, so honestly, I’ve pretty much accepted and am merely waiting to watch the nation melt down.

What Walker is doing by lying to us really grates me. The man may have done good things. I know of some myself, and I have been very complimentary regarding those things.

Now he’s resorting to lying to us. That isn’t the tactic of a Conservative. This man is going to turn out to be another George Bush.

I don't doubt your bona fides or passion one bit. You are living in the heart of the beast in CA, a once reliable GOP state and conservative when I lived in San Diego in the mid 60s. Legal immigration and illegal aliens have changed the state into an economic basket case. The education system has been wrecked. CA used to be the leader in so many areas and now it is in decline. Non-Hispanic whites are below 50% of the population; one in four is foreign born; and Hispanics are one third of the population. VDH's Mexifornia gave us a glimpse at the deterioration. CA is the canary in the coal mine.

Couldn't agree more. The issue that shows the starkest contrast between the GOPe and some conservatives is immigration. The corporate paymasters dictate policy. The MSM including Fox take the corporate line hence the attacks on Walker. American jobs for American workers is the kryptonite to the elites. The fact that we have a mainstream politician and possible candidate for President talking about legal immigration as it relates to jobs and American workers is very big. For me, whether Walker gets the nomination or not is not as important as this point of view being represented unapologetically on the national stage. Thew shrillness of the attacks against Walker for this position from both the Left and the right tells me that Walker is over the target. It could be the spark that Angelo M. Codevilla talked about between Washington's ruling class and the country class. America’s Ruling Class — And the Perils of Revolution -- The only serious opposition to this arrogant Ruling Party is coming not from feckless Republicans but from what might be called the Country Party -- and its vision is revolutionary.

I don't share that view. I think he is a politician who knows how to compete with the Left, which lies all the time and is never held accountable. Walker has executive experience and is a pragmatist. His view on immigration coincides with the view of the majority of Americans. Walker is not as bright or eloquent as Cruz. He also lacks foreign policy knowledge and experience, which Cruz has. Cruz thinks better on his feet and is a formidable debater. I could live with Walker or Cruz. Hillary is the alternative. That said, I will no longer hold my nose and vote Rep if Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, et. al. are the nominees.

My point is that we should direct our fire at everyone other than Walker or Cruz. As this process moves along, we need to rally around one of them. I fear the conservative vote will be split between them allowing the GOPe to nominate its candidate once again.
